I will be marshaling there in two weeks, but as yet not sure which post. Maybe near the medical center and camping at Les Combes.
Anyone going and would like to meet up ?

I won't be going Gordon; however, the last (and I use the word advisedly) GP I went to was at Spa (2, perhaps 3 years ago).  Mr Termite, Paul and I were in a bar in a nearby village having dinner, and had quite a long chat with a Brit who was marshalling there then.  Could that have been you, perchance?

Was it at Le Relais de Pommard in Francorchamps, or maybe The Casino where we sign on in Stavelot?
I haven't missed a GP there in 12yrs so possible, as not normally more than 2 or 3 of us get to do it.

Not me then, and the village you're thinking of will be Ster, possibly. Not far from the back of the old start area.

I was very tempted to go and marshal (Pits/Startline) but it clashes with the Silverstone LMS weekend and I couldn't justify the cost of another euro trip  Sad

Have a good one Gordon.

Cheers Piglet, not sure of his name but Chief Pits from Silverstone used to be a regular there, although not seen him for a while. Abbot rings a bell ?

Yep Mike Abbott, he set up the links we have with pits/starline at Spa.

Mike stood down as chief pits about 10 years ago but Dave Heard and some of the others have kept the links alive.  Frank, who is chief pits for the Spa GP and another chap (Johan) come over and marshal our GP with us.   Mike still marshals, mainly flags these days.

I'm starting to regret not going...Spa is on the list of places I'd like to see a GP.  Maybe next year....

I've been in love with the circuit ever since I went to the last GP on the old circuit when Pedro Rodrigeuz won in a BRM in 1970. The inside at the top of Radillon is awesome as they are aiming at you when they come into view, some with a big wobble on !!
I hope you make it next year !!

Grin Absolutely, I don't think we've ever managed that!
