I am thinking i would quite like to see myself and some gentleman racers in a bristol fighter.

Sponsorship unkown but either JPS or gulf i would hope, or failing that some local outfit like Wokingham Plumbers.

I think I would leave the modern stuff to the youngsters, and assuming it was only for fun I quite fancy.........

A Porsche 908/3. Assuming it was affordable I would then trade it in for maybe a Porsche 956 or 962 after a few seasons.

Ah that's where your going wrong, you just won £3.5 - £4 mill (good old Streling).

First you do not use your money, you use other peoples money - Bernie showed us that.  Grin

Second - I'd go with the old classic, or a Caterhem.

But I would not have a team, I'd race the thing myself and not pay for someone else to have the fun.

Since it's my favourite car ever, I might as well race it when money's no object.

Was on that stand in 03, the supercar stand with one of the guys on it who was developing his own car and got talking to the Invicta chaps, didn't like it myself, looked all wrong although i must admit it does look better in your picture.

Do they still make it?

At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.

I don't do GREEN, I've got a 4x4

If I had won the £35m+ lottery.  What would I do with it.

Well, I would split it into two.

The first half I would spend on Wine/Women and generally have a good time in a big place somewhere by the sea.

The second half, well I' just Friiter away but mainly on the above!!!!!!!!

Or buy into Spyker F1

I would go for a 936 in Martini Livery and have a matching transporter. A nice boat- 30-40ft somewhere in the Greek Islands and a nice Maison somewhere in the Loire, oh and a Lancia 037 and an Audi E2 short Quattro for a spot of histerical rallying. I would also give to the sick and the poor and work with animals and children Grin
Wonder if that Scottish women would like me to build her MY dream transporter? (See Commer thread)

I would have to go for a Lotus 23b, and attempt to pedal it myself. And would aim to compete in all the classic events I could around Europe.

But then I suppose I would need an 11 to go racing at the LM classic.

Was it Lord Hesketh who said " I made a small fortune out of motor racing".. and when asked how ,replied " I started off with a very large one " ?

I reclon you could have a lot of fun for a (relatively) reasonable amount of cash in a Lola T70 Mk3b, one of my all time faves.

World Sportscar Masters is an exhilarating series for Le Mans type Group 4 Prototypes, built between the mid-1960’s up to 1974. It covers a wide range of evocative and powerful big sports cars, from Ferrari to Porsche 917’s, Lola T70 Coupes to Alfa 33/3, Matra 650, from Chevrons to Abarths. World Sportscar Master grids provide action right through the field, with 5 different classes for different engine sizes and car ages, providing drivers and spectators with many exciting class battles. Careful tyre and technical regulations ensure that the very fast ‘little ones’ are giving the biggest cars plenty of competition.
