Theres a lot to be said for the strength and safety of race cars these days after some of the shunts we've seen this year

What would you expect from the Idiot Racing League. When you have cars running on rev limited engines, and spec aero setups, around a high banked oval, this is what you get. Dumbest f**k*ng racing series in the world. Fax

Your right Chris, to each his own...but its still the dumbest f**k*ng racing (if you can call it that) series in the world. Looked like there were about two hundred people at MIS to watch Dario's act. Wish that series would fall into a great black hole and vanish forever. The Idiot Racing League races next week at the Kentucky Speedway, Marlboro is once again giving away tickets to anyone who will buy a pack of smoke's in a attempt to put butt's in seats. I suspect cardboard cut-outs of spectators are next. Fax

I wonder how Dario's wife feels about him racing only for the money, in front of no one.
Everyone knows those cars are deathtraps, yet nothing's been done. The issue isn't how safe they are because he didn't die, the issue is how dangerous they are for getting airborne like that on a regular basis. Kenny Brack, Buddy Rice, Tony Renna, Mario Andretti, Marco Andretti, Sam Hornish - all airborne, some with disastrous consequences. They choose not to address the problem.
Examine the injury records of the IRL. It's truly apalling.

I am so glad, we don't get to see any of these races over in Europe on regular TV channels.

He's making a habit of this, he did it again in Kentucky. Thankfully he walked away from it again. A very sheepish interview on the news.

well thats a big one!
Must say i quite enjoyed Indy Car the year Mansell did it and won, especially the race on his birthday when he got out at the end having won the race and was covered with vomit as he felt a bit ill.

Yes, he did it again! I couldn't believe it was happening again when I saw it live. I think he got "bigger air" this time....
He appologized to the other driver saying he didn't realize the checked flag had flown. His nose hit the tire of the car in front when it slowed after the race was over.

Once again, another flying IRL car. When one of these finally lands in the crowd (and one will eventually), its going to screw up the sport for all of us. Tony Renna's fatal testing accident at Indy mercifully happened when there was nobody in the stands the car landed in, killing himself, which is about four hundred less than would have been killed had it been race day. They found he, and his car in peices. Again, the dumbest racing(?) series on the planet! Hey y'all, lets go watch a Indycar race to see if someone will get airbourne today....Yeesh! What the f**k was Dario thinking? What a dumb-ass! Oh well, Ashley can buy him some more helicopters to make him feel better. fax

Fax, this is getting boring now. Get down off your high horse before you fall off and hurt yourself.
Funny that you claim 400 people would be killed when according to you, there is only about 200 at each race. Stands looked pretty full to me, and the crowd was also pretty healthy at Homestead when i went. I seem to recall you said i would be there on my own. That being the case, then why did it take me an hour to get out afterwards.
Cars can fly in any open wheel sport and i don't see you slagging off sprint cars that also regularly flip out of race tracks. Might happen in F1 too if they weren't so processional.
Yes Dario claimed responsibility but in my opinion it was 50 / 50 as Matsura shouldn't have slowed down so soon after crossing the line as the cars behind are still racing to the flag too. The closing speed and the reaction time is next to nothing so thats why it happened.
You might think it the dumbest racing series in the world but i love it and I love the close racing. Cart for me has lost the plot and all interest from me.
But then i have been brought up watching oval racing since i was a month old. So Fax, if you don't like the IRL, then don't watch it, just don't keep coming on here publicly slagging it every week. Its getting tired.
