sounds like you have planned one hell of a road trip. Ambitious? Yes. Impossible? No. My family drove from washington, DC to Alaska way back in '95, sold the car and flew home. some 8000 miles in 30 days packed in a 'yota minivan. some called us crazy but we did it.
Its too bad you wont be stopping in New Orleans on this trip to pick me up!  Cheesy  im trying to figure out if i can make it to Sebring this year. it falls almost perfectly in my spring break, but i might not get the cash to get rental car there, and the greyhound bus doesnt seem to be a great option... none of my friends are crazy enough to want to spend their spring break at the 12 hours of sebring.   Sad  maybe ill hitch-hike.

Goodduck: if you can make it to Pensacola for Wednesday evening March 12th, I'll gladly take you down to Sebring. We fly out of Orlando though, so you have to find your own way back Undecided

Indeed, cars are reserved (2 Mustangs and one Grand Marquis) and plane tickets are booked.

Only 5 million seconds to go! Shocked

the amtrak website tells me that i would have to take a train from New Orleans to Washington, dc then a train to Sebring. i find it hard to beleive that there wouldn't be a simpler way. i have tried to reenter the information several times and it has come back with the same info. they have to be kidding.

EDIT

just got off the phone with amtrak and apparently "thats the way the tracks run"  Grin

i guess we dedicated all of our resources to the interstate instead of rail.

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere. Is it too good to be true?

Don't know if you really want the peugeot's to run sebring, they are more like the audi than anything else, no sound, dead quick but boring. Maybe Jaques Villeneuve will run it at Sebring 12 hours, expect a lot of canadians at the track then!
