Big own goal scored at the weekend  Angry . the Vulcan flew in Waddington for the airshow & was then duly grounded  Shocked
Someone  Huh didn't complete some structural inspection work on another airframe in time for the renewal of the permit to fly  Huh this requirement was known about at least a year ago.

Don't know how they'll get corporate sponsorship with all the no-shows of last year & again this year  Cry

It seems (according to rumours only on PH) that they knew all along they were not certificated but were "pressed" to arrive at Waddy so that the Waddington display could "have" the Vulcan there as promised.

The PH aircraft section is throbbing with angry punters who have been stuck in lousy traffic jams both into and out of the station, only to learn that the Vulcan wouldnt display

I am sad to think that I may never get to see a Vulcan fly again

TVOC seem to have screwed up the whole operation

We will see

I'll be off to TVOC next to see what they have to say about the debaclé

Ah yes here it is

04 July 2009 - VTTS

The Vulcan to the Sky Trust (VTST) and Marshall Aerospace are deeply disappointed and saddened to have to announce that the planned displays of the Vulcan at the RAF Waddington International Airshow on 4th and 5th July have had to be cancelled.

As part of the 2005-7 Major servicing, a number of structural inspections had to be deferred, because it was not feasible to complete them on XH558’s airframe. It was planned by VTST and Marshal Aerospace, in agreement with BAE Systems and the Civil Aviation Authority, that these inspections would be carried out before the renewal of XH558’s Permit to Fly on 3rd July 2009, using the airframe of BAE Systems-owned Vulcan XM603 at Woodford, as part of the scrapping process of this aircraft. Unfortunately, despite best intentions, it has not yet proved possible to complete or establish mitigations for all these inspections. Consequently, we have currently not fully met the conditions that would enable the issue of XH558’s Permit to Fly renewal.

XH558 is however is fully serviceable and ready for flight, and Marshall Aerospace together with VTST and BAE Systems are doing all they can as quickly as they can to resolve this unexpected, one-off issue within the next few days. We are very sad that it is not going to be possible for the Vulcan to display at Waddington over the weekend of 4th/5th July.

but what a shame...

I think they would be great pics if I could see them on screen.

Can you please reduce the size of them so they are just below full screen size.

dear championaudi

please please please

open MS paint

then open your pictures in it

then open IMAGE stretch skew

and change 100 % in the top two boxes to 50%

then rename (so you dont lose the great pictures you take in high res) and post the renamed images here

we might be able to see them easily then

the picture of 558 climbing is breathtaking but impossible to see onscreen in one shot

stop the presses

I just tried it with your Vulcan picture at 25%  got this

great picture thanks
