Hardly seems worth the fuel for the three men and their dog who go to the Britcar.  Huh

Is that what the Top Gear team call themselves these days?  Roll Eyes

Bugger!! Wish I'd known it was going to be there. It must have been while we were in the Pits with Spyker  Embarrassed
She flew over at 2pm and as said, was behind the main grandstands at about 3000 - 4000 feet. Made me wonder if it was a recce run for next weekend.

From the website http://www.tvoc.co.uk/flightoperations.asp

"It is with great sadness that VTST have to announce that due to technical problems XH558 will not be appearing at Siverstone or Goodwood this weekend . Fuller details will be posted later today."

Thats a darn shame as i was hoping to get a glimse of her 3 weekends on the trot as i will be at Northampton on Sunday so there was a slight chance. These are from Southport airshow. Shame about the specks on the camera sensor though.

Yes - a fantastic effort and long may she fly.

I caught this on Midlands News this evening - Prototype VX770 crashed exactly 50 years ago today.

Getting these birds in the air takes an incredible toll.

I know you guys like engines and most forms of engineering, including the avionic sort. This cut from 12 o'clock high is one of my favourites and listening to those engines crank up makes the hair on my neck stand.

This is a shame for all you folks who were hoping to see the V at Goodwood.
I've got my fingers crossed for the future of this magnificent aircraft. I fear it's going to be a constant battle against the ravages of time and the age old problem of finances.
I think it's Peter who has told us of the bill that has been run up this year, for hangerage etc.
It would be such a shame to see a vital piece of our Air Force history lost.
Fingers crossed.

Anyone in the Farnborough area tomorrow... look up at 1200hrs

"Thursday marks 100 years since Samuel F Cody, an American-born 'Wild West' showman, became the first aviator in Great Britain to make a sustained flight in a powered flying machine of his own design. To mark this occasion there will be a flypast of aircraft over Farnborough from midday organised by the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST). The flypast will consist of:"

12:00  AAC  Apache

12.04  1929 Gipsy Moth

12.07  1931 Tiger Moths and 1933 Rapide

12.10  1935 Avro Anson

12.13  1935 Hawker Hurricane

12.15  1948 Chipmunk

12.19  1952 Avro Vulcan

12.22  1974 BAe Hawk (RAF 208 Sqn)

12.25  1994 Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF 11 Sqn)

12.28   Boeing C-17 (RAF 99 Sqn)

12.31  Vulcan lands at Farnborough

if you're looking for a good vantage point this could be the one for you, the aircraft should be overflying this pub, here's to sunny weather and you can stand outside.

That looks remarkably close to the old Officers Mess which was used to be an excellent vantage point for the Air Show!  Sadly, no scope for me to bunk off from work at High Wycombe tomorrow, otherwise I'd be down there like a shot!

I may avail myself of the show home of my former employers.

This sits conveniently at the northern end of the runway.  Planes are about 100ft AGL as they pass, usually in a nice nose-up flare ready for the piano keys a bit further down from the site.

Camera ready

It's not what, but who you know...
