Congrats Doc, great name for a great little girl. I wish you all the fun in the world getting to know Daisy Anaïs.

And glad you have picked a name with an accent thingy, my daughter has an accent in her name and i do enjoy getting irate at people who spell it without.

Have a drink and a cigar on me.

Congrats Sconeman,
And the best of luck, it's a special time and no mistake, wallow in it, -  I'll bet it was the best cold one you've ever tasted!
I was just saying to young Two-inch-SU the other day that he seems to have grown up so quickly.

LM related names is easy, plus a play on words AND is also a ladies name, Portia, or Porcia for Porsche.  Simply really, how could anyone object to such a beautiful name.

As you'll remember from your classics at school, Portia was used twice by the Bard in The Merchant Of Venice and Julius Caesar. Grin

Congratulations Si!  Smiley

Nice timing too, just long enough after the 24th weekend so that you can't be accused of being away for birthday party planning etc!  Grin

Hi guys. What a nice suprise to get home from another long stint at the Hospital to find more kind words- you really are a great bunch and both the missus, the little ones and I are feeling the love! Cheers you guys- it means a lot Kiss
All is well with Daisy and Mrs S and they will be home in the morning (which pleases me because that place is so HOT!!)

Its probably not the place but I would like to say somewhere, that despite the fact everyone knocks the NHS and the powers that be, its only when you rely on the buggers that you appreciate just what a good bunch of people they are. I have been overwhelmed by the care and effort that these fantastic human beings put in - day after day.
In the ward above my wife and Daughter this evening is a Doctor, who for whatever reason decided a few weeks ago to take lives instead of saving them by driving a  burning car into the front of a packed airport. The fact that this man is being cared for, without question, shows the strength of human nature, the proffessionalism of those guys and is a wonderfull example to us all.
 Gawd bless em all!

Well, I have another evening of peace and quiet to enjoy so I think I'll have another cold one!!

I fear the storms commeth in the morrow!

Trust that, through the after effects of a cold one or two, the storms are not too stormy this morning, and that the homecoming is a good one. Smiley

HA HA i thought it was just the Royal Berks Hospital but it must be baby wards everywhere that are unbearably hot.

And i will second the good doctors words praising the work and staff in these places.

To Dr and Mrs Sconefinger.
Very many congratulations from us all in the Lord Steve household.
I can remember the indescribable elation when my son, Earl Jonathan Ford Pinto, was born. I went home to my little gaff in Darlo and drank "Journey Into Space" with Marks & Spencer pate on toast. Best meal I ever had!
Four years later Lady Emma Zetec Valve Gear was born.
Fact is, the last 24 (no, really) years have been the best years of my life.

Enjoy mate - girls never stop lovin' their Dads.
All the very best
Steve

Hi Guys and Gals - heres first (non gunky and red) pictures of the new arrival at 4 days old. Shes no trouble and as quiet as a mouse (so far!)

Looking forward to having a celebratory beer or six at Silverstone Wink

Not too clever at the picture up-loading thing so appologies in advance for ridiculous sizing etc.
