Pescarolo consider 908 or ALMS

Another side swipe at the ACO or more to it?
From Autosport.
Henri Pescarolo is considering acquiring a customer Peugeot 908 for his team or abandoning Le Mans and the Le Mans Series for the American Le Mans Series.
Pescarolo Sport's conventionally-fuelled cars have struggled to match the diesel Audi and Peugeot prototypes and the team boss has been outspoken in his criticism of the ACO's attempts to ensure parity between petrol and diesel entries.
Pescarolo believes that switching to diesel fuel could be his only option if he wants to remain competitive in Europe.
Peugeot are understood to be investigating the possibility of making their 908 design available to customer teams in 2008.
"The 908 could be a solution, but it is yet unknown whether Peugeot wants to give some of their cars to privateers as well," Pescarolo told Autosprint.
"In any case, it will still be an uneven situation in the LMP1 category."
He said a move to America is another possibility. Although the diesel Audis also race in the ALMS, the series organisers have made a number of rule changes to ensure that no team becomes dominant, and the LMP2 Porsches have regularly beaten the Audis in recent months.
"So I'm also considering the ALMS, as it seems more sensible to the needs of the teams and to the performance among the cars, in order to keep the spectacle alive," Pescarolo said.

I hope its just hot air coming from Henri. I don't want to see him bugger off to the States or run a horrid diesel. The ACO must act to prevent another boring race like this year. We need to see 4 or 5 cars at the finish all within a lap or so of each other, not 6 laps apart.
I've said it before- handicap the oil burners with a caravan, its all they are good for!

That has rarely happened! even in the Grp C days so fondly remembered by most of us, the winning margin was often pretty big.

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

It need not be though. Yes I know that we will probably not see another 1969 but you can have a closer battle if the cars were more evenly matched. Just look at GT2 at Sebring, now that was a race!
