favourite band/artist - Greenday 1st gig - Ocean Colour Scene - Reading Rivermead, about 1996 best gig - Green Day - Wembley Arena, 1998 - Before everyone wanted to see them! worst gig - Tough one - Daphne and Celeste or 50 cent at Reading Festival - both shockingly poor fave album - The Levellers - One Way of Life (Best of) probably does most - it's good to bring you up when you're down, and take you higher when you're up...thats what music is for me...
Bands I wish I got to see: Nirvana, Queen (complete with Freddie), Rage against the Machine and Guns N Roses (before Axl was the only one left)

My first gig was Echo and the Bunnymen at Buxton Pavilion Gardens in about 84. Favourite gig was Super Furry Animals at The Tivoli in Mold, north Wales. Worst gig was Happy Mondays / Stereo MC's at Whitley Bay Ice Rink (well actually didn't get in as I was kicked half to death outside by some geordies because of my gobshite mate) Favourite band has to be The Kinks and fave album is 'Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space' by Spiritualized. Would love to have seen The Smiths live- alas....

First gig?
Kinks in Kings Heath Brum about 64/65
(Never did get to see the Beatles, but next favourite band would be like many of us here, Queen with Freddie)
Best gig?
Jimmy Ruffin in Brum70 summat (a mate of my missus's was playing sax in the band, totally gobsmacked us!)
Worst gig?
none of em, some guys want to play for me? Good on em!
On the tape in the Midget, Eagles or Tina Turner lately
On Cd in the Sayab Simply Red today, Dylan greatest hits yesterday maybe Ms K Bush termorrer! Or Queen.
And Old Fogie radio for me please, but I am old after all...

1st Gig Thin Lizzy - Renegade Tour 1984? Hammersmith Odeon Best Gig Eagels Farewell 1 Tour Birmingham Last year Worst Gig -
I can never pin down a favourite band, track, etc but based on purchases, Thin Lizzy and theit most played track would be 'the cowboy song' from 'live and dangerous'
My favourite track of the moment is Baba O'Reilly [turn it up to 11!!]
Over the last few years we've made a point of going to see Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra regularly for a boogie and I've recently been scouring the local library for soul music. After reading this thread I'll be seeking SRV's music! I bought Warren Zeavon - Genius, The best of on a whim and that stayed in the car for quite a while.

He is very good, saw him at Liverpool proms x2 and also at Delamere Forest, outdoor amphitheatre- which was great. Also saw Madness at Delamere, different night, which was funny. As the crowd started throwing plastic beakers of beer, some of the crowd could have played for england cricket team. Suggs made the comment- you would'nt do this if he was Jools - he was drenched by the end of the night.

First gig: Doe Maar (Dutch band) 1983 Best gig: Skid Row, supported by L.A. Guns, absolute cracker at the time (1992) Worst gig: the Cranberries (2004). Got free tickets, luckily. The gig wasn't bad, but I prefer them on CD. Fav band: the Cult, probably know to most of you by now. Seen them live 4 times over the last two years Fav Album: Cinderella, Long Cold Winter. Currently playing: the Four Horsemen, Nobody Said it was Easy (1991). What do you mean, stuck in time

First gig: Doe Maar (Dutch band) 1983 Coming to think of it, my parents took me to the Rolling Stones in 1981. But the band stated was the first one I went to by myself. As for worst gig, Iron Maiden at Bremen, Germany, (1989) was pretty bad too. But that was more down to myself. Drank too much that night and couldn't remember a bIoody thing the next morning
