All,

As well as posting the details of the theft we suffered on another thread, I emailed the ACO yesterday, setting out the details, including the lack of security staff during Saturday and Sunday, compared to the mass of them patrolling the place on the Tuesday through Friday.  The response I got today was:

"Dear Sir,

We are sorry for the thefts of which you were victims.  Nevertheless, we thank you for having told us about it and we will take care in the future to improve our services for the benefit of our customers and spectators.

Please acccept, Sir, the expression of our distinguished and devoted feelings."
Jean-Marc DESNUES Assistant General Manager

I wasn't expecting much else, but at least the matter has been acknowledged.   I sent my original message in French to the usual ACO address of aco@lemans.org, because that seems to work better than a rant in English.  Altavista works well enough if you keep the sentences short and simple!  His email address is jm.desnues@lemans.org  Anyone else who suffered from a theft of any nature may wish to e-mail the ACO address and his as well, so that they get a better picture of the scale and locations of the problems.

Thanks Mark, I appreciated the security for the early part of the week, as if you were behaving correctly and not pitched in the wrong place then you were left entirely alone.

I will email him from home tonight about the theft of our flag pole and famous grouse goose
