The view from ground level



The car arrowed in the centre is my mates 1956 Hillman Minx that we went in that year ('65, '66 or '67). 

Lynx's photo is even earlier though - I don't ever remember a bridge being there.  It looks like that was before the old tunnel was built.

As you can see from both pics, the N23 used to be one of the main car parks

Where are all the tents, gazebo's pools etc, come to think of it where are the camp sites?  Shocked

Thes pics are superb!!!!!!! Anybody got anymore similar ones.  Does anybody know when the ferris wheel first became part of the event??

I guess in those days.....kitty litter had not been invented....and of course catch fencing was someting onlyused to keep sheep in the field!!!

A tent probably cost the equivalent of 2 or more months income in 1960!

I personally recon it is arnage with run to the porsche curves as they are now anyway in the bottom right.

I'm with Pam. It's Indianapolis. Arnage corner is just off the left-hand edge of the photo.
