I don't think it's my computer or ISP, cos it's OK on other forums, but CA seems as quick as a WR on Sunday afternoon.
Anybody else experiencing the same.

Yes, same here Barry.  Must be the annual increased May / June site traffic.

Variable is, I think, an apt word for performance today - sometimes quick, sometimes slow.....

Undecided Thank god for that, I thought it was just me as no one else had mentioned it.

It's not due to any overdue bills is it?  Wink Grin

slow for me too today. I start to worry about the speed once the CA guide is ready, may be we should offer several download locations

Cheers

The server "ping"s fine.  I suspect it's just overloaded with the high activity we get this time of year.

There are only 33 users (including guests) on the site at the moment, and it has been faster than this with larger numbers, so I am not convinced that that is the cause.

A ping response is not always a true guide to a web conection speed. Big difference between a single (or 4 successive) packet and what is generated by a browser request.

No the ping only tells you,  you can get ot the LAN interface.   Nd that he networkk between teh two points is intact.  If the system pings but you get no response from the Web server all you know is that the web server is not responding.

The number of users is not important it's what they are doing.  For example if they searching it has a much bigger impact than just reading a topic.

Without knowing how the webserver and database iare configured one can only guess as to what the problem is.

I doubt it's related to the financial issues.

Maybe we could host it as well, plenty of space and bandwith on our website/ forum, talk to Langtall or Schizo on our forum.

That would be perfect, so we could offer 3 differnt download locations then, all pages looking the same as I would deliver all files (pdf and html) to you:

www.clubarnage.com/caguide
www.lemanszone.de/caguide
www.drinkingforholland/caguide

Let me know if this works out for you

Last thing I heard we were way over half the 1 gig space we have, and that was before the update (with the added English section). My thoughts are the CA site is pretty big with the ability to upload pics...
