Right well because we are not going to LM this year, ive sold the tickets, cancelled the ferry and sorted our trip to Spa instead and now ive just found out that Griff is no longer going to race in Spa so LM is back on.
There will be six of us,in three cars instead of the usual Winnebago. We can go on wednesday eve and back monday.
At this late stage which route s the cheapest?ferry or eurotunnel?
As none of us love tents(despise sums it up)we are looking for a hotel away from the circuit,up to about 50 ks if needs be.As weve been every year since 1991,this year we'll probably do a bit more driving about rather than watching too much of the race.
Any suggestions ?

cheers

I have a friend here who runs a b&b.  He is not taking bookings at present as they have just had brat no. 2.  However, he may be willing to take you if you're prepared just to accept the rooms without the breakfasts and look after yourselves rather more than you normally would.  Let me know.  Alternatively, there may be a nice big gite I could look at for you? Try aferryto (I think .com but maybe .co.uk) to compare prices for crossings.

Jeez, you seem to be in a mess! Shocked

Don't want to dissapoint you even further, but the boys from PlanetLeMans have ordered the closest available hotel during the LM weekend about two months ago now. They will be staying 80 kms from the circuit Undecided

Nogent le Bernard (30-40  mins from the circuit.)  I'm seeing the owners on Wednesday.  Don't hold your breath though as they may well be booked.

Great News!! And also it means George will be at LM!!

Powermite - we are working on an affiliate link with the website termie mentions above. I'll get a link and post it here, if poss could you book through them? (I believe they are no more expensive than the operators, and sometimes cheaper)

As far as ferry costs go I booked on Transmanche a week or so ago - out Wednesday evening at 19:00, return on Tuesday morning at 00:30. Now I know these are not the most convenient times but it cost me £54:00 booked via the Association of British Drivers website.

The best deal I could find yesterday was Norfolk Line - £68 for thursday/Monday. Speedferries have no Monday returns except 23:15 or whatever.

yes Smokie,I spoke to GAB last night so he's going to look into his best options.Either flying to Paris and then Train to LM or flying to the UK and coming down in the cars with us lot.

Anyone able to give me a ride to LeMans TGV station on Monday after the race? I need to be there before 10:00 am, does not matter to me how early. Just about to book flight and TGV, no driving this year, need only the short lift to LM train station then I`m set.

Kpy, have you got accommodation for them?  If not I'll skip asking my friends in the morning.
