Welcome Jimp!!  Smiley

You are one of a growing number from the area. I'm in Basingstoke, there are several from Wokingham and a couple from Thatcham as well as a couple of others from Reading.

In fact it must be getting near the time where we should have our first "planning meeting" at a local pub!  Grin  You should come along a meet of few of the regulars!

Thank you all for your cheerful words. I'm a Le Mans virgin and was wondering what one piece of advice you would give me to aid my experience?

Literally one piece each? Whaddayareckon? Smiley

I'm coming down with 21 mates in a minibus and a camper overnight on the Wednesday...arriving at the circuit on Thursday. We are staying on Beausejour until Monday morning.

So...top tips?

Cheers in advance.

Hi Jimp!

10 years ago I was an LM virgin - now I'm retired and live here! Our first trip was with a well-known UK-LM travel operator, by overnight coach, and the journey was hell - virtually sleepless in both directions. But the race was wonderful, so we persevered.

One piece of advice? If you want to see the easy-walking parts of the circuit, roughly from Maison Blanche to Tertre Rouge, and I'd strongly advise it, then make sure if the weather is at all hot, you have access to plenty of water. I've seriously regretted not being hydrated more than once around there!

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

If the weather is hot and you are walking try an "aquacravat". A piece of towling around your neck that can be wetted at taps you pass to keep you cool. You might look a twat but you will be cooler and you won't get a sunburned neck Cool

try an "aquacravat"

This sounds like the sort of attire that BigH should be getting organised for his run down to LM this year!

Welcome Jimpanzee, can confirm that there are toilet and shower blocks aplenty on BSJ. We at Team Booze'n'tabs will be arriving there early hours thursday morning to sit round a campfire drinking beer until daylight so we can put our camp up Grin
