Yes, I live here. I run several cars of an older nature and am pleased to give assistance whether it be with plod, directions, things to do, hotels, B&B, camping sites (two english ones here not far from the circuit), entertainment, places to see or whatever.

Hi Lynx, glad you made it over here. You must be a near (ish) neighbour of Termietermite who also inhabits your part of the world. Enjoy the site, the natives are mainly friendly

Welcome, Lynx. Another sensible person who knows there is only one place on earth to live - La Sarthe. Only, don't mention this to Mr Z or you will set him off.....

Apologies for not replying earlier Nordic. I have always been a Jaguar nut and on the basis I'll never afford a real one I have two Lynx D types - short and long nose - plus a flat floor E type I bought over years back. We've been round Europe more than a few times together!

I have always been a Jaguar nut Thank God for that! I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me. I'd love to have a look at the D reps, - post a pic or two if you get the time. I remember working near St Leonards on Sea (not as nice as Newbiggin, mind) many years ago, and could always find an excuse to wander into the Lynx factory there and watch the lads doing their stuff. As you'd expect, there was never many cars in there, but the ones that were were pretty hot stuff. There's something about rolling aluminium that makes me go all sort of funny... H

Earlier this year I was working in Aldershot near to Racing Green (Aldershot's not as nice as Newbiggin either and co-incidentally H, a pal of mine went down to St Leonards on sunday in his Jag XJR to lick a school teacher). Anyway, they know a few things about C Types at racing Green I can tell you. There was a nice one, 3.4 bored out to 3.8 and fitted with 48DCOEs. Quite nippy by all accounts...
What I'm trying to say is I too would be interested in seeing some more pics of the Lynx D's.

I Have never been to Aldershot or St. Leonards on the sea, but surely the damp patch behind the gents lav in my local is better than Newbiggin. I might get done in for that comment thinking about it. Swiftly back to topic please, i'm off to hide!

It sounds like Newbiggin has really gone to the dogs, mind you it's a long time since I've been that way (and the hygeine standards in Sconefingers local seem unusually high for that part of the world). Northumberland, best kept secret? you bet! Shhh... H

Pour yourself a large one H and stir some memories. Gordon Bennett!!! Pensha Monument, High Force, Durham lanes, Bamborough Castle... - that's a great link Stu, it's a little early for a large one, (only just, though) but it didn't 'arf bring a tear to my eye. I've got a feeling I know which way the conversation is going to turn tonight. My partner in the saddle next month, Brian, an old school chum (who has a long history of dangerous and unstable behaviour, as well as a healthy disregard for personal safety), still lives up your way, just south of Berwick. He says his training is going well, and I couldn't think of a better place to get some miles in. He reckons the weathers been fantastic lately, which I take to mean 'the thermometer has just crept above freezing and visibility is more than ten feet'. (Mind you, when he says his training's going well, he probably means he's chased a few sheep, throttled a badger and been locked in the pub for 36 hours. And who am I to say that that's not Good Work?) Have a great weekend up there Stu! H
