Due to a change in plans (this translates as "my wife didn't tell me about a family commitment, when I booked my air ticket") I will not be making the trip over to Florida.

Tip.  Have large calendar by front door with the dates of all the race meetings you can/would like to go to, blanked out in red.  Tough luck.  Sorry we'll miss you.  Roll on June.

Yup we've got one of those - some "must do's", some "like to do's".  What a bummer though Nobby.

Anyway, it's not the stay at home and be sad club - it's the "stay at home on the sofa, drink beer, eat pizza and anything else vaguely American" club.

Does anyone know if there will be live ALMS Radio coverage on t'internet?

Oh yes. The most unflexible air ticket means I will be around £450 light.

That nephew of mine isn't getting much in the way of a present at his Christening Wink

OmG, that is a one hell of a lot of money to loose over a Christening, the poor boy won't even remember you being/not being there Undecided
Can't you have Martin Short send you a personal invitation to Sebring? SHE probably won't notice the difference Wink

Paddy,

I know what you're saying.

I accepted the invitation to be a God parent way back. The date was given to my wife when I was away skiing with the boys, and she forgot to tell me.
When I told her about going to Sebring, she said "no problem, there's nothing on that weekend". that was on the phone whilst at work.
So I book the flight, go home that evening, go to the calender to put in S E B R I N G in big letters, and hey presto, there it is, in black and white..... "Wills Christening".

Family comes first for me, especially as I have already accepted the invitation to be a God parent. angel

Sebring will still be there next year, even if my 450 quid isn't!

Like I said, have fun one and all. Cool

As a proper godparent I'm sure you won't shirk your responsibilities. Buy him a 'my first scalextric' as a christening present, and take him to Sebring for his 18th birthday. I'd advise you to put it on the calendar now.
