Have you seen former footballers Les Ferdinand, John Barnes and Luther Blisset hope to take part in next years race. It's a 60 year anniversary since the Windrush docked with the first of the West Indian workers. They are running a team of Caribbean origin. I see it now, the 'training' car is an M3, but I bet they try to enter an X5. I went to the carribean on honeymoon, and the whole ethos is 'there's no hurry, it can wait' A quality ethos for motor racing I think

Hi from the chap in charge of IT for Windrush Motosports...
Just to let you know Windrush intend to compete in the BMW championship this season and a number of other events leading up to the 2008 Le Mans.
We are unable to let you know which cars they will be using for GT racing at the moment but we are in talks with a number of suppliers.
We had a test / evaluation day on 29th Jan at Brands Hatch and will be announcing the current driver line-up very soon. In reply to a previous posting its anything but layed back at the moment. The people in charge of the project are not recovering from the test day on some beach in Jamaica and are putting a mighty effort into getting to the 2008 Le Mans.
Watch out for the Daily Mirror tomorrow there is supposed to be an article in there about the team.

Hello Mr Gutbucket and welcome... Just to say, please do not take offence at any light hearted jibes which may evolve from this news. I can assure you that all the teams deserve and get utmost respect from our members, but particularly so when we get someone connected with the team posting on the forum. Don't forget to come back from time to time...

Yeah, that sound cool, first driver Cheech, second driver Chong, now all we need is a third, how about Towly from southpark!

welcome gutbucket I think you have already realized that you need a good sense of humor reading the forum posts... Something else: As you may have seen we are doing a yearly guide to Le Mans, see www.clubarnage.com/caguide , which is the project page for our guide 2007. I'll keep you in mind when we set up the project page for the 2008 race (should happen in July this year), would be interesting to publish some reports about your preparation phase for 2008 in the 2008 guide... Cheers and good luck for all of you Werner

Shades of the Jamaican Bobsleigh team that first appeared in Calgary Olympics Winter Games in 1988 to much derision, got a mass of support and ended up being immortalised in Disney's "Cool Runnings " and got better and better over subsequent competitions, with the 2-man team coming 10th and the 4-man team 14th on the 1992 games.
Not a lot of time to start from scratch and hit Le Mans in under 18 months, but in the good British tradition of supporting the underdog, jolly good luck to them!
At least if it all turns to a can of rats, surfing this site will provide ample pointers to the many other opportunities available for the discerning punter to pass the time at La Sarthe during race week...... MG Mark

Thanks for all your comments its sure put a smile on my face today. Yep Cheech and Chong would be great but I'm not sure about Towly.
I'll have a word with the powers that be regarding getting a link on our site to your site although I can't promise anything.
