Bloody storm has ripped a lot of ridge tiles from my roof, insurance company says " obtain the services of a roofing contractor ".

Looking at houses around me there is 9 that require the same service. Looks like I will get one first week in June.

They will be as rare as rocking horse sh*t.

Poor you.  I remember a similar response after the hurricane all those years ago, from our insurance company.  Are they taking the p*ss?  Cowboys popped up all over the bloomin' place.  Bon courage, like what they say 'ere.

Brian was lucky not to need a bodyshop for his car. One ridge tile nearly did some damage. I live opposite to Brian, I am just waiting for my roof to follow.

4 pantiles gone from the roof of one of my outbuildings.
House roof looks good so far.
I've just come back in the house after some running repairs to the greenhouse  Undecided

The power went off down here in darkest Norwich for several hours at lunchtime. Gave me a welcome break from my thesis or as I'm now calling it the document of doom.

Things are pretty bad here in Holland now. Storms are bringing the country to a halt. The owner of this car from Amsterdam isn't going anywhere today Undecided

I don't need bad weather to have problems to go back to work after a visit to the pub Grin

I was hoping several big trees would fall into the lane while I was in the pub at lunchtime thus blocking the route back to the office but it didn't happen.   Sad

It took me 35 minutes to get from Ridderkerk to Zoetermeer, which is normally a 1,5 hours drive at 1700. But with motorways completely blocked (one from the south, and one from the west) it was an easy drive, as I used those roads just after the point where the blockades where Smiley
