Yahoo!

The tee-shirt has landed!

It looks great and the picture on the back is really striking.

And the stickers are bloomin' lovely too. (Echo MIKE C's remarks too, great extra one, thanks Paddy)

Now I know June isn't too far away.

T-shirt plus stickers, and the little extra, arrived yesterday.

Top work fellas for producing these beauties.

I shall give them all their first airing at pre-quals.

Thank you.

Shirts and bonus sticker received here too. Many thanks to all involved. Del - I think I still owe you a quid I think following a miscalculation along the way, please confirm and I'll hand over the equivalent in Euros at La Sarthe if that's OK.

Shirt will probably get an airing at Gurston Down this weekend.

given the reputation lots of the Brits have at LM

I wasnt aware there was anything to be ashamed of being British at Le Mans?  Have I been missing something all these years?

F

Obviously you have yes.  A lot of the behaviour of the British contingent is, and has been for some time now, nothing short of disgraceful.

What disappoints me more than anything is the disrespect that many show to our hosts.  With good grace the French throw their community open to visitors from all over the world so that we can enjoy their classic sporting event.  All too often one witnesses excessive behaviour from many of the British 'fans'.

The number of times over the years I have heard and seen British fans verbally abusing the very French people who give their time to organise the event is absolutely shameful.  You only need to look at some of the other LM forums for examples of this sort of thing.  I know many will try and pass it off as 'humour' or 'light-hearted banter' but it is not.  It is disrespectful and when I witness such things it does make me feel ashamed to be British.

Maybe visitors from other countries behave in a similar manner, but this does not make it acceptable.

Preaching to the converted in my case o/t.  However, a French friend of mine who does the parking on Blanche, remarked to me after the race just how much more polite and friendly the Brits are to him than the French (sic).  We're like every other nation in that respect: some good, some bad.  I guess it's just with the booming English voices, lobster-coloured beer guts and Union Jacks everywhere, that the Brits just stand out more?

I wouldn't worry about that too much if I were you. There will always be people misbehaving, whatever nationality. Have a look at the film regarding the roundabout at Karting Nord on a Friday, loads of nationalities represented there, and not many are obeying the law there.
The Dutch are known to be rude as well when on holiday (like the Brits and the Germans), mostly in cheap resorts like Benidorm and simular places. I'm not ashamed of that, that ain't me. I lift my shoulders and walk on, in a behaved manner Wink

I don't think the people from Club Arnage misbehave in a disgracefull way anyway. This is a nice little clubby Smiley

Paddy, I am sure you are right about most of the CA contingent and I am also sure that visitors from other countries behave badly too but it does not stop me from feeling saddened by their behaviour.  More often than not one can only walk on by and behave, as an individual, in the manner that one would wish others would behave.

Call me old fashioned if you like but it does make me feel uncomfortable.
