A French team, Mirabeau Competition, has plans to run up to 3 New Morgan Aero8 's in the FIA GT3 series.

The team has in its workshop the old GT2 car, which is odd as a GT3 car cannot be based on one.

One rumour is that with the centerany of Morgan Motors coming up there are plan to return to the sarthe by 09 to celebrate.

Wouldn't we all.

Is that a DHLA I spot under the bonnet?  And which vandal cut the hole in that hand crafted bonnet.  And look at all that dust

The Morgan was a kind of sweet to look at, especially on Sunday afternoon at the '04 race.
The Audi's were getting boring by then Undecided

In answer to your questions

1. One of a pair.
2. The bloke who owned it before my da. It's seen some filler in the past, and the rigid filler has not sat well with the morgan ethos that ' everything should shake and rattle'.
I believe, following a running engine, and all the legal stuff following a year or so long engine rebuild a new bonnet is in the plan, and they aren't dusty.

You should see the passenger seat where the cat sleeps  Cheesy

A good excuse for her (left) to go round the circuit again!  My avatar was taken on the pit straight on the morning of the 2002 race.  Great memory.

1970, 4/4; Ford 1600 xflow.  Paul (her owner) got her new as a 21st birthday present.  He also has a red car but loves his Moggie much more.
Er, nope, it wasn't the Sunday (shame).

I do hope Morgan do return, they are always great, brilliant noise and the best looking racers out there, always get a cheer in teh wee hours at Arnage when one rumbles past.

The Aero8 is my favourite LM car of recent times, much missed.
