Been away for a bit so might have missed this discussion.......

Has the test weekend been confirmed as the 02nd-03rd June?

What campsites will be available for those attending?

Anyone going?

I seem to recall that none of the campsites are open for test weekend.  A few people seem to kip in the car parks tho.

For the pre-qual last year it was only Houx available over the weekend.  That was closed just after the pre-qual weekend (can't remember when) and the campsites then opened for the race weekend proper on the Monday before the race as normal.

It was not possible to camp for pre-qual and stay on the ACO campsites until the main sites opened.

It is worth considering the municipal campsite at Spay (search it, I'm sure we've discussed it previously) which is cheap and cheerful, has good facilities and is about 3km from the circuit (or is it 5?).  You can then stay there until moving onto the ACO sites if that floats your boat.

(of course if you're coming home after pre-qual most of that is useless to you  Grin)

I last went in 2003 or 2004, can't remeber exactly, and we just drove upto the main gate, showed our tickets and got directed through the tunnel, told to turn left and camp on any bit of grass we could find.

But that bit of grass has now gone due to the alterations.

There were others camping there also, so i assumed it was the norm.

Last year did they no make part of BSJ avaliable for people staying over between the two? I seem to remember in 2005 that is where they tried to send us on Sunday night before getting on to MB.

Don't know Rick, their official response was that there was only Houx and that would be closed after the weekend.

I don't know whether the reality was any different.....

ACO have just got back to me and confirmed that none of 'their' campsites will be open for testing weekend.

They have been in the past, but not anymore.

So, is anyone else going to test weekend and where are you staying?

I am planning to go for test weekend (arrive Saturday, leave Monday), and then return nine days later for the race.

The other test weekend might be more interesting for those who live close, and don't go to Sebring:

PAUL RICARD (F)
OFFICIAL TESTs
25th-26th March

Season 4 – This is the fourth pre-season meeting for the Le Mans Series at the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit. We presume that this session of Official Tests will provide the first laps for the Peugeot 908 amongst its challengers

Six hundred fans will have the privilege to attend the first time testing laps achieved by their favourite teams on this circuit usually closed to the public.
Actually the circuit will offer a full package...

More to come soon!
Above text has been removed for a while now from their site.
All that remains is More to come soon!, even up to today. Typical LMS-site - even the contenders list isn't published yet, although the venue is in three weekends time Undecided

I was planning on Test Weekend again but work has got in the way, and I will be in Aberdeen, so Mrs S is going to come up there for that weekend instead.

We had planned to stay at the Ibis Le Mans Centre - I have a booking (Fri/Sat, E196 total) if anyone needs it, but be quick!!

Are you talking about the test weekend, Termie? I thought Ricard was a VIP only spectator circuit. I haven't been there since the French GP 1980.

Some of the PlanetLeMans boys will.
I think a letter from her solicitor would be waiting on my return if I'd go there the weekend after Sebring Undecided
A shame though they still haven't got their act together at the LMS organisation, regarding my earlier post today. Have you got an invitation, Termie?

Yes, I've wangled myself an invitation. Wink I've got round the O/H problem by taking him with me to Sebring.
Christopher, I will be around for LM test weekend but am staying at home.
