Just been looking around the ACO site, not sure I like what they are doing at Tetre Rouge virage.............all the trees gone as is the spectator bump on the inside corner, that was one of my favorite veiwing spots.........3am beer in one hand , frits in the other........all looks a bit too sanitised for me wont have to guess which car will pop out from behind the trees by the engine note  Huh

I suppose from their point of view, that particular section of infield wasn't being used to the best of it's ability, wouldn't be suprised to see a grandstand or new campsite there:


As you said, its a shame, cracking place to view the race close up, however it looks like the outfield will remain relatively untouched and with any luck they'll resurface the track up to the Tertre Rouge campsite.

And a tramway terminus and a new sports stadium to fit in somewhere.  Not forgetting a f***ing great new car park to service both.  Don't suppose any of this part of Le Mans will be recognisable when they've finished - not that it is now of course.
