Are Ohio residents dumb ?

No offense to Fax, but are Ohio residents dumb.

You may recall I wanted to bid on a sprint car kit, but couldn't so asked for help on here. That seller was from Ohio.

I found another for sale on ebay and this time was allowed to bid on it. I won the item and sent the address to send it to, which was my mothers address. Again the seller was from Ohio.

I got the following e mail back from him tonight .

"I need clarification on your mailing address. I'm filling out the info that Paypal provided, and it doesnt look like a valid home address....can you give me clarification on this?

Changed these so as not to post my mums address on here.

So I then clarified that that was indeed the correct address and was a valid postal address.

I just got back the following reply from the seller.

"Actually, can I address it to you instead? I don't think that's a valid "address"...I looked at it this first time and was confused as hell...I have a feeling the postal worker will do the same when I take it in tomorrow. "

So I sent him my address which is actually longer than my mums address.

Hmm, don't know what to tell you Chris, never tried having Ebay purchases sent to my mothers home rather than mine.  My Paypal account has my address on it and never had problems.  Must be a Paypal account issue.

I think you will still find it is the issue of having a delivery address that is different to your paypal address.

Mine definitely is. I always use my company address, as somebody is nearly always there during the day. I even have my brother in law's Bournemouth address registered as well, just in case there's somebody shipping "UK only"...

You should come to Eldora sometime to find out if Ohioans are really dumb.  Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania are the mecca of sprint and midget car racing. Places like Winchester, Salem, and Eldora ooze US single seater history.  I've been to Winchester on a quiet autumn day before with nothing going on and much like Indy itself, you can hear the ghosts of the departed greats (Bill Vukovich, Jimmy Bryan, Don Branson, Jud Larson, etc.) walking the grounds.

A pretty fair road racer too.  He and Jeff Gordon would have easily been the US best bets for a F1 champ had they chosen to race abroad.

Hi Fax,
          Tony Stewart is also 2006 IROC Champion. He has offered his Million $$$$ prize in exchange for the same group of drivers to have the use of IROC cars to race at at Eldora.
probably figures he can kick their arses there too
