Great stuff!  I don't think this one has been posted (I may of course be wrong) but this is one really is topping stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DulNn2tlTFs

Mike Hawthorn in a Jaguar D Type in 1956 pre-race driving a lap of the track and commentating - pre-race including remarks about "typical french" relating to various random cars, pedestrians and cyclists encountered around the track.  Epic stuff.  Narrow roads.  Lots of trees.  No Armco anywhere.  But the Stella bar and Hunaudieres are still there........ Hero material   D Grin Grin

MG Mark

That is brilliant. However it didn't look like a hands free mike to me  Shocked

A nice little jouet avec the mots there mon brave.... Wink

My hero!  I take it that perhaps he's not so well these days as he hasn't made his customary appearance at LM for the last couple of years.  Does anybody know?  Must do a Google.

Piper was racing at Goodwood this year in his 330P.

I suspect he has cut back a bit and choses to race in a slightly less competive arena.

I would watch this one ASAP, I think it may not be up for long, but if you where watching races in 67, you may see yourself.

Its pretty long at over 20 minutes, but if you stick with it to the end you will see the 69 BOAC 1000 from Brands and the comic sound track, including a Ferrari 330 p driver being told to return to the track and collect his bodywork!

There are also plenty of driver dressed in Jeans etc and cameramen is postions that display an amazing lack of self harm.

That's a good bit of news.  Mr termite and I discussed his absence in '06 and were a bit concerned.  Thanks.

Great stuff , doesn't the track look good without  run off areas and catch fences , almost like they are on a b road.

Nordic,

What a great find, a fantastic time warp film.

How close were the people to the action, and the pits reminded me of my old scalextric pits building.

and the best bit about the film, no mention of the little guy who has his grips on F1 now.

How do your copy this film before it goes.

You can buy it and the others from the same series here.

http://www.motorfilms.com/quarterly.php

Not cheap, to suscribe its about £70 for 4 DVD per year, which is why some people are downloading them.

Right click on Nordic's link above.
Then 'Save Target as' - it's about 88 MB.
