Assuming that ClubArnage is hosted on a static site, it is always possible for you to take a note of the IP address and use that instead of the "www.clubarnage.com" part of the address.

As far as I can tell, the IP for the site is 130.228.2.207

so, try the following

http://130.228.2.207/forum/index.php

to gain access to the forum next time you have a problem. Hope that helps.

The only problem of course, is that every time you click a link or thread, you will have to replace the clubarnage part of the address each time.

You could also try manually adding the IP address/domain name to your computers hosts file to see if that helps. Try the following, assuming you do not have any other entries already in which case leave those in as well.

Code:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1             localhost
130.228.2.207         clubarnage.com

Be warned though, if ClubArnage changes it's IP address you will need to alter the hosts file.

It'd be handy if people could note the exact error they are seeing when reporting it.

Smokie,

I'm not sure if it will help much but the attached screengrab is the error message I was getting in Firefox when either;

- trying to access the forum directly from my bookmark
- trying to access any other club arnage thread found by google

This error message would appear literally immediately on screen - it wasn't timing out, it didn't have a chance to.  As I said, not sure how much help this is as it seems to be the generic Firefox error message - can't load site / badly typed URL / etc.

When I tried to access the www.clubarnage.com home page I would get a glimpse of the page for a micro-second, then replaced with a blank window with the above error message.

It was as though my ISP was recognizing  a 'bad site' and immediately blocking it from loading up.
Anyway, glad to be back here again.  Grin

I just had the very same message!

Whilst this is a work around it's not the way to fix the problem.  The correct solution is to fix the DNS.  It won't acutaul take that long.

Hmm - this is very strange - I have clicked my usual bookmark, but seem to have been re-directed to the CA foreign language website.     Undecided

Can't explain that Fran, but you are now here safely, that's what counts...  Kiss

Anyway, I haven't enough access or braincells to deal with this issue so have sent a link to Lennarts & Dave - hopefully it will get sorted out before too long.
