You thinks thats bad, look at the price of the Isle of Wight ferry, and you've then got Portsmouth Caen on top Angry Angry

As for trains, one of our team went Eurostar, change at Lille for about £160 first class (under 25).  It includes food and booze too

I got two people 1 car LD Lines £140 total, club class seating.

Is club on LD as good as it was on the old P&O I wonder?

Seems a longer trip than the old "Pride of Portsmouth" ship at 7½ hours though.

Going on the Tuesday night crossing and returning on the  following Tuesday afternoon/evening 1730 hrs.

Roll on!

I will have another look, everytime i go to SF they will not let me book that far ahead. I will be on Friday too, but again doing an all nighter due to VQDave Jr needing company during the day till the wife gets home.

Probably go for the 21.30 or there abouts again, and cruise through the dark in the Humber. Beauty  Cool

Probably coming back on the Tuesday, Rouen Sunday night, Bolognee Monday night due to my late arrival.

In which case Dave, the Humber will have the opportunity to hook up with the Commer in Rouen on the sunday night. Rusty/Bretheren know all the local dives and lowlife bars in Rouen. I think also Mr N Diesel and gang are Roueners of a sunday too. We'll be staying in the free 3 star hotel again!

Indeed. Rouen on a Sunday night is a traditional stopover.
No football next year, so no late hours at the bars.

It's not all bad news though - one of our lads was beckoned into a party by a stocking and suspender belt wearing tranny!

Also, if you don't have to dash off too early on Monday, there's an interesting selection of sex shops. The one that catches my eye is called "Le Box".
Look upon it as a last opportunity to pick up a little gift for the missus, if you couldn't get that ACO endorsed G string in the correct size!

A restaurant open on Sunday, I'm impressed.

Stopovers are a good deal, even for Monday or the way down (cheaper ferries etc), and Ouistreham is favourite - le Broche d'Argent, good food (and the driver can drink), with the hotel room about E30, and have tried the Premier Classe hotel at Rouen Cow Roundabout, cheaper but its a bit isolated.

Just my luck - no sex shops at either

Excellent a Rootes gathering in Rouen. Cool

This too is our now regular stop, this year involved a chinese, pissed in a bar with whores upstairs and regularly popping into the bar wearing their skimpies to get the next punter, then a gay bar till the small hours.

All very entertaining.

Dave you might wish to extend a personal invite to our beloved Smokie, as you know, he will be sampling the gay scene in Key West after S*bring.  His experience would be invaluable Wink

I guess the gay scene must be a tad lacking here in Wokingham what with Smokie( police) having to go to the States, and me going to Rouen.

Would that mean you two are the only gays in the village

So presumably at some point someone's said "I'm a bit bored with this bar and these prostitutes, I fancy a change of scene." And someone else has replied "I know a great place with no women to bother you!"
