Jarama was great fun! Great weather on Friday and Saturday, yesterday a bit cold and windy, but that was just what the doctor ordered for the nasty J&B hangover I had.
We (hgb and I) got a silly cheap hostel in the centre of Madrid and visited Jarama during the day, which is about 20 miles from Madrid and went into town in the evening, getting hammered in those typical Spanish bodegas.
Walking through Madrid at night, back to the hostel, I found myself very popular with the girls. It didn't take very long to find out they were professionals though. What a bummer.
(and no, I didn't)
The Jarama track is fun to watch, but apparently the drivers weren't too happy about it, because you get in each other's way very easily. On Friday nobody really bothered about having the right tickets, so we could get some nice track shots, not hindered by the fencing. Saturday and Sunday were a different story, so I don't have track shots from the race.
I was allowed in the Spyker pit area though, which might have something to do with the orange cake I bought them on Saturday. HGB does that every race apparently with the Rollcentre and Kruse teams and he always gets a free ticket.
I will sort my pics tonight.
