WD-40 literally stands for Water Displacement, 40th attempt. That's the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed WD-40 back in 1953. The chemist, Norm Larsen, was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion—a task which is done by displacing water. Norm's persistence paid off when he perfected the formula on his 40th try. From thier website. Don't know why you like the smell, but I would seek advice from other areas of this forum if I were you!  |

If it doesn't move and should, apply WD-40 and hit with a hammer. The latter should work on the first or second attempt, let alone the 40th....... MG Mark |

Never tried WD40 on kids - does it stop that high pitched sqeaking noise they make early mornings when you have a hangover? F |

It is really good for removing the glue left on your windscreen by the Le Mans car park stickers I never knew that - I use nail varnish remover... |
