I'm pretty sure Orlando is closer to Sebring. And at Miami you have to pay a per night supplement on your car hire (not a lot though - $3 per night IIRC).

Will be a pretty empty flight, I think. KLM is about 300 euros more expensive than Martinair.

Which is the best airport to fly to Miami or Orlando?
I'm considering the trip in 2007 and could possibly use it as an excuse to recce Orlando for when the kids are a bit older!
I'd need to fly via Amsterdam or Paris as I have some "airmiles" to use for air France/KLM.

Hi
Orlando is where I get off, and t book '07 trip now. Not sure if you get BA flights where you are (where are you) but there is a sale on at the moment... www.ba.com

Also for car hire I found this the best value '06

http://carhire.airline-network.co.uk/carhire

Hope this helps

I've now checked up  the Air France and KLM websites.
Miami would be the best for me from a flight point of view as from Newcastle Its only 1 stop in Paris , vs a connecting flight in Atlanta to get to Orlando via Paris or Amsterdam. It uses most of my airmiles to do it business class but I deserve it!

I've always fancied seeing Miami anyway.

Now just to get the go ahead i think.

Well done Martin, looking forward to seeing you again!
Termie, it'll be a pleasure to meet you in person and sink a few brews.  I mentioned on another thread that I'm missing the Petit this year, but nothing, and I mean nothing could keep me away from Sebring next year.  One of the last genuine great races left.  As Hindy said, the place oozes racing history and has barely changed in fifty years.  And its also as big a party as you'll find on this side of the Atlantic.

Expedia.com has some dirt cheap rental car deals right now as well.  In Orlando, I've always reserved the smallest, cheapest putt-putt car available and never ended up with anything smaller than a Saturn Ion.  (Small, but not Lupo-sized).  Last year I got a Taurus and the year before was a Dodge Stratus, each for less than $80 for the four days.

Right now, the weekly rates are about $200, and a 4-day is $80+

Even a 15-passenger van is "only" $70/day or $247 for a 4-day rental, thu-sun.

Chrysler 300  Roll Eyes is $145 for 4 days.

Can't wait.  Luckily I am bringing along my two-legged motor racing encylopedia.  Moggie man too - he is an F1 enthusiast so that should be funny!

What an interesting thought - a Chrysler 300 for a week or so...

Will investigate...preliminary pricing indicates around the same as this year's Plymouth Voyager...
