Being under the flight path for Heathrow we're used to the background noise of flights making their approach every 3-5mins at its busiest, but not today, a bit eirie (sp), but a dam sight better than the potential alternative. Hope they dont shoot any suspects by mistake. Good job.

All a bit scary if you ask me, hang the bastards!!
Bit OT really but i went to the cinema last night to see Miami Vice and 2 of teh trailers were terrorist films.
One being about some fictional bomb in LA, all a bit scary again
T'other being 'The World Trade Centre' brave move me thinks making a film about that. Got Nic Cage..................hmmmm

saying that..............i just heard a plane going over, very high up and a bit cloudy so couldn't see what it was but sounded like a passenger jet to me, iraq air i guess as they should be OK.

Returned to Gatwick from Canada yesterday to find that my luggage is still in Toronto. Guess I'll have to wait a bit, all lines busy today - ServiceAir were busy enough yesterday without this going on, I don't like to make a fuss considering the bigger picture. My CA tee shirt was in a case that did arrive but junior's prized Corvette LM 2006 Teeshirt is missing so far...Chances are that It's at Gatwick but how long it will take to arrive here, who knows?
try again tomorrow.....

Thanks John, but I'm led to beleive that most thanks should go to the Pakistani Authorities. They picked up a couple of "British" visitors who were over there and up to no good. In Pakistan they have a slightly less "enlightened" attitude to questioning those in custody than we do in the UK. According to a Pakistani friend of mine the police have been known to offer the suspect a nice cup of tea, ask him to inspect the gallows at the end of the corridor and then enquire if he'll be interested in dangling from the big hook in the ceiling in a few weeks time. Like most of the Al Quaeda Senior Executives, they are essentially cowards, prefering those lower down the food chain to do the actual dirty work of blowing themselves up. Needless to say it can't have been long before our two compatriots must have been singing like canaries... |

I like that idea. I will get my surface to air rocket ready. Ok, I know this isn't the place for politics and the mods can remove this post if they want to, but.... Lets not tar everyone with the same brush here. What we are talking about is extremists hanging on to the Muslim faith, not Muslims in general. Cat Stevens and Imran Khan are Muslims and I don't think they are likely to be looking to blow anything up. The IRA used to blow things up in London, they are 'Catholics' and the UDA/UVF used to murder people and blow things up in The North they are 'Protestants', but we didn't call for Catholic/ Protestant only shops and bars and then make comments like "I'm ready with my grenades". My family are Catholics but I don't inmtend to go out and blow up a Protestant. Yes the people responsible for 9/11 and this plan are evil and deserve to be hunted down and dealt with but they do not represent the Muslim faith in general.. A little tolerance goes a long way in this world. |
