#2 is the Pace Petroleum Aston Martin turbo Vantage owned by Robin Hamilton and driven by Salmon and Leslie (?) - I'm guessing '79 or '80

Your right about the car being the Aston AMV8 turbo. I think it may have been pre Pace Petroleum/Victor Gauntlet days.
The car was owned by Robin Hamilton and entered by Link Systems.

But the drivers are not Mike Salmon or David Leslie when this picture was taken.

OK - if it's pre Pace - it'll be the Link Systems car from the late 70's?
In which case Hamilton and Preece?
I read somewhere that Derek Bell drove this car too - is Hamilton and Bell the Le Mans link?

Right about Hamilton but not Preece (he drove the car at Le Mans and elsewhere)

This was taken at Silverstone in 1980, the co driver was D Bell he did not get to drive in the race as it retired in Hamiltons hands very early.

Not the best picture in the world, a bit of fence got in the way!

The link between the 2 pictures is that both had Le Mans winners down to drive, and both marques both still race there.

And its not a URD.

Dome RC?

Hasn't Jan Lammers been involved with Dome since way back when?

Nearly there.

Your on the right track with Dome, but this was way before Jan Lammers was part of the set up.

I though Jan first had dealings with them twenty-odd years ago? No other ideas on the though.

I don't think Jan drove for Dome until his RfH team was set up. But I could be mistaken.

Anymore suggestions on the ID of the drivers?

Didn't Chris Craft and Bob Evans drive the Dome RL 80 at Le Mans in 1980? Don't know about elsewhere.

Craft & Evans where teamed up together in 1980 and 81 in the futuristic Dome Zero's.

http://images2.fotopic.net/?iid=y1wqvd&noresize=1&nostamp=1&quality=70

In 79 the team entered two cars, one driven by Spice/Craft the other by Evans/Trimmer. Both cars retired within a few laps of each other.

However the picture is of a later Dome, the RC83, which was entered in the 1984 race. Its drivers where to have been swedes Eje Elgh and Stanley Dickens, who later went on to win in a Sauber Mercedes.

The car non started due to a crash in practice.

Thanks.  Sadly I cannot access the pics - they come up "direct linking not allowed!" - shame.
