Zakspeed is a German Race Team/Tuning Specialist, most famous for campaigning late 70's and early 80's turbocharged Capris. They run a Saleen S7 in the current FIA GT series.

The outright lap record at the 'ring is, (I think) held by Stefan Bellof in a Porsche 962C.

I assume you mean the Nordschleife.  Belloff holds the record at 6:11, in 1983 (its last year), but Ickx was faster in practice (See "In car 956"), with Vergers' Radical SR8 now down to 6:55 in road trim.

Schumacker would have been 12 when it closed.

Peter Zakowski runs Zakspeed, which was started by his father, and they run the racing school at Nurbergring

Zakspeed also ran an F1 team - they first ran in about 1985 - Jonathan Palmer drove for them - one of the cars was this one....

What I can only assume to be Michele Albereto at the wheel

Jonathan "the doc" palmer at the wheel

Schumacher used to race for Mercedes Group C in their junior squad back in '90/1.  I am unsure which tracks the series took in.

When you say Nurburgring - presume you mean the Nordschielfe and not the GP track attached to it?

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

1) That's Peter Zakowski, founder and chairman of Zakspeed, see 2
2) That's Zakspeed (www.zakspeed.de). Just browse the site. Matt is right.
3) That's Schumacher: No idea.
4) The record on the Nordschleife is still held by Stefan Bellof, time: 6:11.
