I need help, does anyone have any ideas how to get revenge on my neighbor???
As a friend he asked me to rip out his old bathroom and separate tiolet, and rebuild a whole new bathroom with a fitted suite and shower, new flooring and lowered ceiling with spot lights. It has taken me about 2 weeks to complete, and now he refuses to pay me for my work. I have nothing in writing as was doing this for a favour for my friendly neighbor.
Of cause I want to wrap a baseball bat round his head, but wish to do something that won't get me caught.
Any ideas Huh

Nothing discussed like in a Gentlemens Agreement up front?

Two full weeks of work and no pay is a little over the top for "a favor for your neighbor" though.

I'd get a very nasty big f*ckoff BBQ, and get some disgusting coles and start burning tyres and plastics on hot summer nights when the wind is right Wink

verbal contract exists, you can't tell me that a neighbour just let you in to do the building work if it hadn't been requested him, sue his arse, go round and remove the kit, follow up customer surveys our specialty Wink

What planet does your neighbour live on. Unless you’re a saint, why does he think you did it?

If he says he’ll remember you in his will, tell him you know people who can move him closer and quicker to his maker than he wishes.

Not sure what the real answer is, but why did he think you were doing it in the first place?

I'm confused.  "As a friend he asked me..."  So was your impression that he was going to pay you?  Did you discuss being paid, or did he think you were mates and literally just doing him a favor?

If you have discussed it with him and he still won't pay i would contact the citizens advice bureau. They are very helpful.
I had a complete tosser of a neighbour who fell out with us because we couldn't remember there first names! Used to call him Mr and surname, but not good enough for him.
We called the CAB and it was worked out.
If you do anything that is reported to the police, when you or them sell the house, it will go down on a search as bad neighbours, affecting the sale ofm your house.
And make a plastercine doll of them and stick pins in it, a great stress reliever Grin

Dog poo is a wonderful substance.

I got very poor service from a garage a couple of years ago, and could get no redress from them, so I put some fresh dog eggs in a jiffy bag, and hand delivered it to the garage before opening time.

Could be a problem if the guy's your neighbour, you could send it to him at his work.

Bit of a last resort though.

Pouring sour milk through his letter box during summer when he is away for a few days is a good one. Wink

Tell him you are aggrieved and expect payment.

Maybe try to reach a compromise

Use the small claims courts, I'm not an expert but I understand the financial risk is minimal.

But don't try to spite him, he may well turn out to have a higher nastiness threshold than you.  Home is where we go to relax, do you really want it to be a war zone?

Worse case scenario walk away wiser but with the moral highground.

It was a sort of Gentlemens Agreement, where he needed someone to do the work, and me being a good friend ( at the time ) and good at DIY, offered to do the work at a cost we both agreed too. However, as the work went on, he started to try and add more work, which wasn't agreed at the begining so declined and said I'll finish what we agreed to do and then you can pay me. After all the work was done, he refused to pay me because I didn't carry out this extra work. This turned into a full shouting argument in my street, in front of the other neighbors, at which at that point decided to walk away as did not want look like the bad neighbor in front of the others. Since then have told all my other neighbors what he has done to hopefully get everyone to hate him. But his the sort of twat who doesn't care what other people think of him.

Hmmm. I'd be inclined to straight-arm him - but that won't get you paid and may get you arrested - or worse, filled-in by him.
Who paid for the materials?
I would try a reasonable and civilised approach before sticking one on him. Sprite11 makes a very valid point - your home is your refuge, not a war zone.
I'd politely ask him if he genuinely believed you did all this work for him without expecting to be paid - and does he think that to be reasonable?
If he won't pay you for what you've done thus far, he can hardly use the excuse  that you didn't do follow-up work, so you aren't getting paid for the original job.
Maybe he's skint. I know it's a compromise, but how about, "Hey if things are a bit tight for you right now, how about you give me 50 quid a week until it's paid-off", or something similar. If you remain composed and reasonable - and be seen to be making an effort to compromise, it is more difficult for the other party to be a tvvat, unless they are naturally a tvvat. If the latter is the case, I'd tell him that you are going to get paid one way or another and that you can do it the civilised way or the other way, how would he like to proceed?

Is this 2weeks of work you would have earned on another job had you not been working for him?  Have you got kids?  These are all leverage points.  Threatening etc. is not going to get you what you want unless you are scary big and renowned pscyho in your area - even then, it's destined to end in disaster.

We've all been taken in business to some degree or another.  Sometimes you just have to notch it up as a painfull lesson and move on.  Or kill his family.

As you fitted the bathroom you obviously know where the soil pipes are, I suggest a short load of concrete down the nearest manhole cover should cause him enough distress when his shitter backs up and overflows. Just make sure it is deep enough in the pipe so he has to dig up half his property.

He'll obviously blame you due to the work you did, but you'll be able to explain to him that as it was a favour and he didn't pay you then there is no guarantee against shoddy workmanship.

Part P of the building regs could be used as a big stick if you did any electrical work in the bathroom.

Tip off the LA building inspector and get them to go round  Wink
