I am getting ready to replace the tires on my BMW 540.  Anyone have any experience with the Avon Tech M550 A/S?  It tests out very well against other high performance all season tires but there is nothing like real world experience with something like this.  Thanks for the feedback.

john just fitted some avons on mine, too dark to check the model numbers but they look good, and must be better than Bridgestone Potenza 40's which where terrible.

I currently have Avon ZZ3's on my car and well I won't be buying them again.  Sad  They are wider than my old uniroyal rainsports but much less grip.  No idea on other Avons mind.

Hi John
Personally, I wouldn't consider anything other than Goodyear Eagle GS-D3
I had a set on a Corvette and they were so superior to the OEM run-flats that they totally transformed the car. Traction, grip, turn-in, road noise and particularly water displacement (important for those TX deluges) was of the very highest order. My tires were monsters, but still very good value from Tire Rack - I think they were around $1300 for the set and like I said Vette tires are biiiig (345/45/19). Tire Rack delivered 'em to my local Goodyear Gemini and they put them on for 30 bucks. Best tires I ever rode on anyway!
Regards
Matt

So far my choise is the Continental Conti Sport 2. They lasted 15000 miles on the front of my heavy diesel and seem better than the others.

I have realised that my new ones are ZZ3's so here's for trying.

We use Pirelli tyres on the work BMW's and they last well.

I've had Avons and they are totally terrific in the wet and in the dry there was nothing wrong with them either.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Bridgestone Potenzas are absolute pants. I shalln't be refitting them when they (original equipment) wear out on the Scoob, that's for sure Sad

I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.
