Who wants a beer?

Traditionally we have headed south east from Le Mans to a nice restaurant in a village for Lunch.

This year this is not practical as my wife has kindly arranged to arrive in Le Mans by TGV at 13:00!  So therefore I need to be at the station at that time.

So our lunch plans need changing.  Anyone know of any good restaurants in the Le Mans area that won't be charging a fortune and have some crappy menu on?

My favourite is Le Flambadou 14 rue St-Flaceau tel.02 43 24 88 38 - specialities and superb wines from south-west France
There's also the excellent Auberge des 7 Plats 79 Grande-Rue tel.02 43 24 57 77
Both are in the old town not far from the cathedral.
Near the station is St-Lo 97 avenue General Leclerc tel.02 43 24 71 85- good value and traditional cooking.

Le Corail opposite the station is fine - might bump into a certain Hugh Chamberlain in there - if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me!

I'm popping to Paris and back friday morning on the tgv to meet a friend. I'm coming back a little later though at 14:00

4 km south of Mulsanne, just off the N138 is Auberge Le Bounty. Lakeside restaurant & bar. English run. Choice of French & English "Plat de Jour". Lovely lakeside terraces - well worth a look. Smiley

NO NEED TO SHOUT

Sorry if I offended......owner or not it's close, it's nice......it seemed relevant to the person who asked the question.

Does all this free advertising on the world wide web mean that CA regulars get good discount.

Lips Sealed Sshhhh!..........you'll wake the World Wide Web and they'll all want discounts!

Camping AND Full English Brekkie for 15€ and YOU WANT DISCOUNTS!! Shocked
I suppose I could pay you to eat it !! ...... no jokes about Alan's food please!!!

Seriously, CA'ers are welcome and theres always room for deals !!

Contrary to suspicions perhaps.....I'm not treying to serve you all Spam Sandwich so no more from me for now. We have got some interesting ideas for 2007 but I share them with the Gods and see what they think.

Cheers All and have a great Le Mans 2006
