I'll probably be hanging around the Formula BMW paddock with Tom's team when not watching racing so should be easy to find. I'll have my obile with me as well!

What a great Day!

Good to meet up with Tom Dunstan, had an unfortunate fool infront of him at the complex resulting in a broken front wing, lapped once then in for a new wing then back out behind the pace car and made up about 4 places I think.

Good to see true motorsport without a bank manager supporting it all! Tom had a huge amount of support in the stands too!

Now lets find some sponsorship for him, Helmet sponsor anyone??

Really good day and i loved my look and chat in the Formula BMW garage, thanks, i really felt it was ace.

Top weather, sunburnt head, only 40 miles short on the bike now, so chuffed on that front.

Only down side was the £24 entry fee. ROBBERY.

All in all, a good days racing - pricy - agreed, but very good viewing, and a little hairy for those on the other side to the wall that Darren Turner flew in to.... Shocked

Thanks to Robbo, Brad - great photos - Rick and JPC for coming. The support is soooooo welcome. Hope the slightly pink skin is a good start for weeks time......................

The grin on Toms face after the last race was great, slipsteaming at 140 (ish) MPH out at the back of Thruxton he said was fantastic.

Not to fantastic is standing next to his dad as his son tries an ovetaking manover at the last chicain and gets very sideways catching (matt hamilton I think - who later on flew almost as far as an Aston) and ripping his front wing off, the other driver drove over it! That is the reason that the brads pics show Toms car with black tape on it. Tom did say if I had pulled that one of , "what a manouver!!!"

Tom was realy pleased that you all dropped by, next race is - ha sponsership please please please - Croft 15/16 July.

Oh has any one got a spare £ 20K

Indeed. If anyone saw the Motors TV coverage of the races, it was Tom that was bounced up into the air sideways (lap 7 I think) Very lucky not to go right over!!

Yes that's Tom in the second race of the day after his coming together with Dan Murray.....  you can tell by the black tape on the nose, when he came in for a new nose/wing the clips for the front cover went missing so rather than delay him in the pits longer than necessary while they scoured the pit lane floor for the missing items they secured it on with the black tape!

There are a couple of good shots of Tom on the Sutton images site as well.

A million thanks to the Club Arnagers that came along to Thruxton and supported Tom. He always knew that being the youngest in the Championship and with only about ten months karting experience it was never going to be easy, but when genuine motorsport enthusiasts make the effort to come along and supprt him, he seems to raise his game and give it his best for them, and its just what we, and he, needs.

Tom has asked me to personally thank the guys at Thruxton as it was them being there that made him carry on, and still push despite his "enforced" pit stop. As he put it on the way home, "Hey they are used to watching LeMans 24hr. They expected a pit stop!"

Maybe one day, it will be for fuel and tyres then off to Dunlop, Mulsanne, Arnage, and the chequered flag, and they'll be saying "Did I mention, I was there when Tom did his first ever pit stop?" It would be a bit different from "Did I mention I was at Sebring?"

Sorry Rick, and JP!!

Seriously, many, many thanks. I hope a few clubbers can make it to Croft now. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeese. We would love to see you all there

Dad
