Got a healthy wallet?    http://tinyurl.com/gqlgn
Get a pair of ear defenders and put over ear walkman plugs underneath....

That is a very generous offer of a spare pair of ears.

Having conducted tests by wearing my hi-fi heaphones attached to the radio, and encouraging my children to make loud vrooom vroom noises (not much encouragement needed), I have established that to my delight they do the biz.

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice

Invested in a very natty (not to say expensive) pair of Senheiser headphones with "anti-noise" so can now hear every word - not always a good thing - said on RLM.  Worth every penny. Smiley

Wotcher mr termite,
Yes, those Sennheisers are good.
On the subject of RLM though, I must admit that in previous years I've looked forward to tuning in, but recently it has been just absolute cr*p. I'm not sure I bothered last year, and am wondering if I will this year. I'm finding it a little difficult to put my finger on why this should be, but it has definitely become painful to listen to, even the Sennheisers don't help.
And yes, I know, when things are painful it's normally quite nice to put your finger on them.

The content quality of RLM was a subject of discussion at the Planning meeting with Jock of Jox Jottings and Grand Fromarge Dave. Lots of fingers in there MR H, the biggest ones would seem to be commercial ones, seeing the Internet broadcasts as a revenue source and hence the ACO have taken the broadcast rights and will inevitably up the licence fees, it doesn’t look good for reverting back to the RLM that we loved.
This is the driver for the "Chance to be involved" and making sure that the RLM team have lots of timely racing updates of events and happenings. Be interesting to see if it makes a difference, might only be small this year but could get better next
year.

Could I just make a bid that the half hourly updates are provided free of irritating interuption - on time and covering all the classes.  Some of the team chat is OK and of course it's good to hear real "news " as it comes in.  I suspect I am not alone in just tuning in TO FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON - not too much to ask, surely? Undecided
