Not sure wether anyone has noticed this, but on the ACO website there's a map of the changes to the village this link should take you to the reelevant page - http://www.lemans.org/sport/sport/dossiers/travaux/index2_gb.html -
click on plans, then on the 3rd from top left thumbnail.

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

Guys this has been discussed some months ago, the "village" will need another year of construction before it looks like the plan, so we have been informed.  The advanced recon platoon will be reporting back next month.

i think the idea is at that point the Saturday night meet is to be agreed.

Ohh - that might be me - must remember to pack my clipboard !!!

I dont mean to sound daft, but surely the poo bar was always just a temporary structure, in the style of a pre-fab wooden hut - so they will only need a couple of hours to build again from flat pack, chuck a bit of hardcore down (not THAT kinda hardcore) and a couple of pallets as a customer platform - and it will be as good as new.... or as good as it ever was anyway!

Wotcher Fran,
Yes, I'd been thinking along those lines as well, and wondering what all the panic was about. I suppose the only fingernail in the lubricant would be if the ACO decided sheds, pallets and hardcore didn't quite fit in with their new squeaky clean vision of the future and the areas are occupied by more glossy temporary corporate structures. Maybe just deciding on 'the nearest bar to where the poo-bar used to be' is as good an idea as any.

Blimey BigH - I never thought I would see the day that we were thinking along the same lines... should I be worried about that rather than the poo bar???

Might increase my dose of Ginko just in case.

Not always, Fran, but has been that for a few years now.  Before that it was a 'permanent' round structure, a bit like the beach bars you see on the ads for some tropical paradise!  It had a conical roof, on top of which was a huge cardboard cut-out of a bottle of 'poo being poured out.  Can't remember when that disappeared - sometime late 80's IIRC.

Del, I stand to be corrected. However, the Carrousel bar I think disappeared reasonably recently, about five years ago I'd say. At the time I thought it was because they were going to build a nice new shiny one, but no. All we get is a stupid garden shed.  The ACO are visigoths and vandals. Angry

I always like the artist impressions, lot's of beutiful people walking about. No pools of vomit, urine soaked bushes and no gimps.
I guess the designer has never been on race weekend then?

I s'pose that if the poor beggar ever did they'd have to find him somewhere to sit and recover.

How about at the 'poo bar?

Looking at the way the ACO is adding to BSJ I 'spect they will pop the poo bar in there, somewhere... Tongue
