just goes to show, with a bit of courtesy means that there is no need for the expensive and time wasting controls used in this country!
And no one injured in over 3 minutes!

I think it all seems to work pretty well - I quite fancy one of those Hindustan Ambassadors for the memsahib, one does a nifty U turn about one minute in.

Is it just me?
I click on the screen to look at a video of traffic in Bangladesh and get Bullitenboard.com free never ending porn.
I would rather see the video as posted

Gents, with due respect the traffic on the video is fu-ck all. And I don't think this is Bombay, as there are no yellow/black taxis which constitute at least half the vehicles on the road. You could get in ten taxis a day and still never use the same one twice in a lifetime.

Having recently been in Bombay, (did I mention I went there instead of Sebring?), this video looks like the vicar's tea party. I have never seen anything like it, not in Bangkok or Cairo, nowhere.

The main problem is there is no driving test, so they all just copy each other. Marked lanes mean nothing, it's just a free for all. Somehow the traffic flow just about works but it's totally terrifying. Overtaking into the oncoming traffic is a way of life (or sometimes death) and several times I covered my eyes with my hands in true cartoon fashion as we were seemingly two seconds away from a head-on with an Ashok Leyland bus, only to look behind after and wonder how the collision had been avoided. Several times I saw limbs being swept into bin bags near a patch of "strawberry jam" in the road. Life is cheap in Bombay and no mistake.

You'd be better off with the porn Bob.

I made several journeys between delhi and Agra by public bus and I have to say that any one of them qualifies as truly, the most terryfying journey of my life. Especially the ones taken in the dark.

I think the other factor to bear in mind in India (apart from the lack of driving test) is the religeous belief that you only go from this earth when your god wants you. Therefore, drivers seem to have a healthy appetite for a  complete lack of self preservation or sense of danger.

Abandoned vehicles, left on unlit roads at night, in the pitch black country side were particularly hazzardous! The only warning seemed to be a rock placed on the road about 4 feet before you hit the back of the broken down TATA lorry.

LOL - ya big nancy boys... its all part of the adventure of foreign travel!!  I loved the practice of driving in the dark with your lights off until you kinda see something coming the other way then u turn em off full beam (such as it is..).... most economical.

I got pooped on by a water buffalo in Varanasi (or Benares or whatever it is called these days) - it bore a disturbing resemblance to the sag paneer that I ate a lot of the time out there!!  Undecided

Also at sunrise on the Ganges in Varanasi saw a dead body floating by with a crow picking at the eyes.... almost put me off my chilli omelette for breakfast!!

Le Mans and its squats and golden triangle holds no fear for me!

I thought that that video was shot on Camden High street but the fact that the pedestrians are generally walking in a straight line convinces me that it's probably not.
As for the porn pop-ups, my anti everything software blocked it, but i managed to get on to it eventually Wink

Fran - yes, I've seen those avian floating takeaways too.

The other pretty strong image is the river bank funeral pyres in Kathmandu. Due to the lack of burial space, corpses are burned on sandalwood pyres. Smells quite nice actually.
