There's quite a few CA'ers going to HA so hopefully someone can [as always  Wink ] tell me the "best" place to camp? Not been there before so don't know the "lay of the land"  Will be a motorhome and tent with 4 people.
Arriving monday, so quite happy to save pitches for others as required   Smiley

On the higher ground cos if it rains (God forbid) the bottom becomes a wash out. Plus its nearer to the track entrance.

Avoid backing onto any hedgerows.
Some people don't want to walk to the loos!

As stu says the area closest to the balance pond has flooded in the past and is prone to knats and midges in the evening.

Myself and Martini are normally in the top right hand field if you stand with your back to the concrete wall that seperates the road from the Bugatti circuit, quite close to the access into the track. This is a large metal door set into the concrete wall. This gate will most likley not be open until later in the week. Steve Brown is normally a little bit further around backing onto the road.

Avoid the section of site closest to the entrace that backs onto the road as you will have people tramping thu your kit all day long.

Just wanted to drag this up for confirmation of the "best" area, can someone point out with reference to the (hopefully) attached pic, plus is the Stella bar in the top right corner??

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

The Stella bar is indeed in the top right corner. Keep away from the lake which is just below the roundabout due to midges and the possibility of flooding.
For easy access to the track the metal gate is near where you see Le Mans on the grass bank but camping too close might mean you have a stream of people wandering through your site.
If you camp close to the road that seperates the Annexe from Houx which runs at 45 degrees left from bottom centre you will be in what is widely regarded as the most exclusive area (not just in HA but in Le Mans itself) amongst a better class of camper, except for the miserable bastard that moaned about our fireworks last year. Feel free to join us for cocktails and canapes on the terrace

Keith, see the attached map.

We usually arrive late Wednesday afternoon and fence off some space for Bob U and Perdu.

If you could save some space for us all, we would appreciate it.  We normally pitch up between the dirt road and the ditch / fence / outside road, adjacent to a standpipe.

Oh BobU, you got me all excited there, - for an instant, I mis-read "midges" as "midgets", and my head started to fill with all the possibilities that opened up, and slight panic as I realized my whole diary would have to be re-jigged. Oh well.
I don't see why midgets shouldn't be due a few roundabouts though.

Surely it wasn't BigH's mention of midgets that turned you into a full member Undecided
