Anyone reckon the Lister LMP1 will survive the night?

Never mind the night, last time it never survived practice!

well, looking at the entry list my guess for this year is:

LMP1: Will be less interesting than last year. While "Henry the beard" Pescarolo could seriously compete with the over-weighted and air-intake-restricted Audi R8 in 2005, he'll be no match for the new R10 and the works team this year, he just doesn't have the resources, same goes for the other LMP1 teams. I guess we'll have to wait for 2007 to see a real battle in that class (Peugeot).

LMP2: I see no clear favourite and expect actually the same reliability drama as last year, when the best of the survivors in this class finished even way beyond the quickest GT2 car.

LMGT1: This is the battle to watch for! I see no favourite and expect a thrilling duell between the Corvettes and the Astons, but even a surprise Ferrari win is possible

LMGT2: Similar exiting as GT1 although I beleave that you still need a Porsche to win this class, the question is, which one of the Porsches will do it. But hopefully I'm wrong and the e.g. the Spykers will give them a chase.

I agree about P2 and the GT classes, but I don't think the new Audi will be the fastest car there and if one of the other teams can make there car last then we may have a battle.

But it would take a brave person to bet against A Joest Number 8 with TK in it. If luck plays any part is there a better combination to have?

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

Anyone reckon the Lister LMP1 will survive the night?

A couple of years ago it didn't even make the mid session interval on Wednesday qualifing, if I remember a certain JCW went nose first into the barriers at Tetre Rouge.
Almost disturbed the 'Greet the Moose session', I was most upset as it looked intresting and I wanted to see it running, all I saw was a crumpled wreck Sad

PS  Must remember to read rest of posts, sorry Nordic for the echo.

Saleen withdrawn

Nooooooooooooo, who am i gonna support now?   There arent any pretty ones left .......  Cry  Cry

Think theres one left Fran, if you notice the time of the post I think me and my friend, the bottle of Martell, forgot that Oreca were not the only team running Saleen's.
Still think that Creation will get in, but I hope not at the expense of the Ameco entry, pretty car that makes a proper noise.
Nice to see a reserve list that isn't all Porsche 911's

[cynical mode ON]
I see that the WR entry for Sebring didn't, in the end, compete.
They had said that they would enter Sebring to push their case for a LM entry.
Looking at the LM entry list, they need not have bothered.  (The Rachel Welter car is on the reserve list though).

They have been turning up for years, they're part of the furniture, and someone has to come last.  If the Welters get an entry, its one less 911.

But there are some far more interesting cars on the reserve list

I've been out of the loop for a while but started catching back up with Sebring this year.  I thought Penske/Porsche was entering this year?  What'd I miss?

According to Planetlemans, Russian Age Racing now have a second Aston and have changed their name to Team Modena.  The ACO have not updated.

Interestingly T2M and Noel De Bello have withdrawn there Porsches from the Istanbul LMS round of the championship. Both these cars have Le Mans entries, so I think they should do the honourable thing and pull out.

That way we will have the 2nd Rollcentre and Creation cars in.
