Hi all.

Been a long time lurker at CA, and after a long absence will be making the trip again this year. Last time was 2001, and went on the bike (WeeDeek, you out there...?).

This time we'll be travelling in relative comfort on 4 wheels - accompanied by the lovely Mrs Geedee, and will be in our nylon presidential suite at Houx Annexe....which brings me to a question, or rather several questions, and mainly from the aforementioned lovely Mrs G...over to you darling...

Can any other lady visitors advise on some of the following?

Are the tents en-suite?
What hair-drying facilities are there?
Will my straighteners work?
Dress code - clubbing or captain's table?
Heels or flats?
Will there be a nail bar on site?
How do we chill the Champers?

Thanks my love.....

OMG, what have I done......

See you there!
Geedee

Welcome Geedee and Mrs Geedee  Grin

To answer some of the questions....

Are the tents en-suite? - yes definately - the boys will be pissing next to your tent all night

What hair-drying facilities are there? - big yellow thing in the sky, should dry your hair pretty quickly

How do we chill the Champers? - I dunno about you but we've got a fridge!

Enjoy!  Grin

If you were in MB you could have plugged your icemaker into the DfH Power Station, however as you are in HA.... you are gonna have to drink it warm n dusty like everyone else!

Geedee,
Welcome, may I assure you that you have made the best possible choice in choosing to stay on the 'annexe.

You will be warmly welcomed there .

Disregard the sour commets from those that the ACO, wisely, send to the other sites and refuse to allow onto our pristine Houx Annexe for fear of leaving an awful mess and lowering the tone.

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

I wasnt in any way wishing to re-open the HA -v- MB rivalries.  I have been in HA a few times (unitil it became impossible to get the camping passes due to demand outstripping supply) and really liked the atmosphere n fireworks n all that stuff, nice easy walk to trackside Dunlop bridge kinda area, etc etc.

However, it doesnt have the vast power resources that you will find on MB for all the la di dahs to run their "appliances".

Good luck convincing yer mrs that she is having fun tho!

F
(not staying in either MB or HA so utterly neutral in the debate)  Cool

Thanks to all for the 'advice'!!

Mrs GeeDee now understands that she will wear her unkempt mane, suffer broken nails in silence, and quaff warm-ish champagne with a smile - and have a brilliant time along with the rest of us.

...and having enjoyed the delights of HA in the sun and the rain, we can't wait. Refined gentlefolk and loutish ruffians from any neck of the woods welcome for a snifter at any time...

Apparently there are racing cars too.....

Now, better buy a tent....

Never - I'm sorry there is a line and it is very squarely drawn before warm champagne.  Sort yourself out a fridge man or she'll trade you in for someone with a little more style  Wink

Take a cool box and buy bags of ice from Carrefour down the road.  Will keep the fizz cold for hours, and I speak from experience!  S** the nails and the hair for one weekend a year - we all look awful after 30 hours plus without sleep. Tongue
