As "The Village" as we knew it is currently a mass of dust and rubble, and there seems to be a rather large question mark over: (a) whether there will be a Champagne Bar in the new village, and  (b) if there is, will it be in a suitable location for our gathering.

I'd like to suggest that we put a contingency plan into place. I know Smokie si going out to Pre Quals and he will recce the place then, but some people may have left for extended trips by then so may not get a chance to read the forum. So, my idea is: Let's pre-determine a secondary meeting spot that we can use in case there is no 'poo bar. IIRC, a hell of a lot of people don't actually purchase anything from the 'poo bar anyway (us included) and bring their own. So hopefully, if we discover when we arrive on site that it isn't there or is in the middle of a corporate area where you can't see or hear the cars (or have fun because it's all now lah-di-dah and full of security to keep the Houx Annexe Riff Raff out, we can all know where to meet.

Another option is to nominate one group, or perhaps one group per campsite, where a note could be left telling CA'ers wheer the meet-up will be.

Or of course we could put our faith in the ACO and assume they will have it all sorted on time and will have thought of people like us!  Undecided

JP, I like the idea of a nominated sensible adult at each campsite, including the barbarians at HA, to relay the Saturday location and the idea of a message board with the same info.

I prefer this idea to determining the location now, as we really don't know the lay of the land and a lot can happen between now and the week leading up to the race weekend.

Go forth young man and implement. Grin

Having thought about it I'm sure the ACO won't pass up the chance to fleece poor punters £40 a bottle for some cheap fizzy sh*t, so they may well reintroduce it somewhere  Undecided

Best bet is to wait for Smokester. If people have already left by then it's their own fault for having too much holiday and/or money  Wink

I too like the idea of a nominated sensible adult it's just a matter of actually finding one. No point having one on HA, they'll just as likely eat you instead of telling you where it is.

Just because you lot are to scared to go onto the refined scubland/dustbowl that is the hallowed Houx annexe campsite, there is no need to nasty about us.

We have feelings too.

A definate flaw in the plan Mark - any "Senible Adults" will have, should have, been reduced to incoherant (?) fools upon arriving at LM and especially by Saturday evening otherwise they should be there! There is bound to be a bar in a location fairly close to a viewing point that Smokie can recce at PQ, the only issue will be his powers of recollection if he does the job properly Undecided
As for the HA hethans, they will probably use their beer tracking senses if they manage to find their way out of the swamps.

Sorry about hijacking this thread so early.

HOWEVER.

Rob, With regard to the HA ruffians and turning up there for information; its a good chance that you will end up on the evening BBQ menu being cooked over one of their conked out Cobra's as it is ceremonially sent off to Valhalla, Viking style. comes to mind.  Burnt on the outside and raw inside.

Ian, it is a well know fact that the HA heathen's are only able to smell out Leffe, the more refined bouquet of a Carrefour fully bottle aged champagne takes years of quaffing to fully appreciate.  So the chance of the poor sod's tracking the Saturday night meet down are slim.

Riff Raff?  Heathens?  Ruffians?

I was gonna invite everyone to our campsite  in the event of the Poo Bar not being there. It was going to be the usual refined HA get together of canapes and cocktails, rather like the Ambasadors party. I was even going to provide the Ferero Roche.

Well, now you have called us names and been nasty to us you can all go f**ck yourselves and it will be for HAers only and you will miss out and it will be great and you will all be jelous and it will be all your own fault, so there

Anyway, you're only saying these things cos Steve Brown is not here, you wait till he gets back I'm gonna tell him

On Maison Blanche we have the genuine article, namely Ferrero Rocher. I guess Ferero Roche is a cheap copy from Lidl that's consumed on Houx Annexe.  Grin

Ah! you spotted my deliberate mistake. That proves that there is intelligent life on MB after all.

Some of us don't bother with the Poo Bar anyway.  We're back in MB with fillet steak and fine Burgundy, fortifying ourselvs for the long night or just trying to find our way out of the pool.
