I once went out with a girl who sold Avon. She could make me shudder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Is that the same.
That would be Avon tyres then...perhaps the shudder was because you needed your wheels balancing!!!... >Martini...

Hey, i used to have an MR2, (SW20) even after 10 years (not bad for an impulse purchase that I hadnt realised only had 2 seats!) I loved to see it as I passed a shop window! - I literally cried when i p/ex'd it for a Corolla - Manchester insurance costs exceeding the value of the car combined with various maintenance/repair issues pending forced sale! F (p.s. i am not a hairdresser, just for the record!) My MR2 on the grid back in 89. Great car. PS I was not a haidresser then either, far worse I was an Estate Agent!

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. H S Thompson 1937 - 2005

I regret to say I do, and when they were in production. My only defence is that I was a teenager, or does that make it worse.

The insurance companies were a bit kinder in those days, my first car was a Morris 1100 in 1974 (£40 FULLY comp), so looked at things like Avenger Tigers, 2.3 litre Vauxhall's, Mexico's etc and drooled.

Probably the same loophole we used, where you could be insured as the main driver on someone else's insurance. The only fear was if you had a prang, your Dad lost his NCB. Can't do that these days unfortunatly, I think the thought of facing my Dad if I had a crash made me more careful the first year after I passed my test.

I know we were talking about cars, and my pal used to race round in his dads commer van, because he would not buy him a car. We used to hide in the back and sneek into Oulton Park, to watch Jerry Marshall and Gordon Spicer. Jerry in a dolly mint and gordon driving a capri. I alao remember when the British Rally was a rally not a trip in Wales, and they went around Oulton the wrong way, on there way to the Lakes. Oh sh-t I am waffling again I only came on to ask what is the water supply like on HA, are there a few taps. Thanks Mike

Mike there's the usual standpipes every once in a while, if you get there early enough (?Thursday am?) you may be able to camp close by (but up hill!!) of them

I would like to say thanks to all of you, who have offered advice on camping on HA. I now have a confession to make. I have now managed to get passes to MB, which is were we stayed last year. I will come and visit HA, to meet you all. Thanks again, Mike
