Gilles Will the tram from Tetre Rouge be open this year, thinking of going into town for dinner on the Friday of the Classic. Is there a stop at Tetre Rouge? Does it go right into the centre of town? What time does it stop at night?
Cheers Barry

The layout is a line of 15,4 km including 10 km of green casting and 30 North-South stations via the downtown area and the station with a branch is serving a zone of collective habitat like several equipment of leisures and cultural (Island with the Sports, Atlantis, Espal, Arche of Nature). The layout uses several lines of buses which will be redeployed. The general plan of motor vehicle traffic will be revised with for objective making safe and pacifying circulation; to avoid useless flows of transit in downtown area, by improving the connections inter-districts; to create a zone 30 km/h with priority with the pedestrians; to incite with the use of the by-pass. It will be created three carpark-relays at the ends of the line (University, Antarès and Espal). These supervised carparks will be free for the users of the tram. The creation of the line of tram is the occasion to reorganize displacements by refitting the network of bus, carrying out cycle installations, revising the automobile traffic organization (with a new ring of circulation around the hyper center), improving the multimode exchanges (with the creation of a pole in Station-North and the station of bus-tram exchanges in Saint Martin's day de Pontlieue), improving the space-pedestrians and embellishing the city with the restoration of the streets concerned with the passage of the tram.

Do you know something we don't? Why not until the Classic? Will it be before the 24 Hours in 2008? I think, looking at the http://www.ville-lemans.fr/ Le Mans town site, that you can get a bus from Pontlieue to Aeroport or Arnage until about midnight on the Friday. Best check with the tourist office. Then you can't blame me

That's always the tough bit, you need a local lad who understands the vagaries of public transport. Imagine the conversation with French Blakey. "yes mate, normally it would run from here, but there 's this bl**din drivers parade, so the route now goes from xxxxx, its on the bus time table. Didn't you see it?" "Le camarade d'es, normalement il courrait d'ici, mais là-bas « le s ce bl**les parade des Pilotes, donc la route va maintenant de, son sur la table de temps d'autobus. A fait ne vous le voyez pas?" Or something similar

Maybe, but that is from the timetable for Friday June 15. There's no drivers parade anywhere near Pontlieue - it's a 15 minute hike from the town centre. But please don't anyone rely on me, use the tourist office, it's what they're there for.
