Good Afternoon All,

Wondering if anyone can help me...

I'm trying to source a large gas powered coolbox for my group... Our Coleman Coolbox and small coolbox running off a fag lighter works to a degree, but usually by Saturday evening most of our fresh produce requires careful sniffing and visual examination for confirmation that its still dead and isn't showing signs of coming back to life...

Whilst none of us have (so far) experienced anything more than 'Le Mans Looseness' and the sound of a flock of pigeons leaving the loft when visiting the traps... I am fearful of one day we may have a situation where a dodgy peice of meat may cause more damage...

One of the guys in our group has found a Combicool 3 which looks like the sort of thing we're looking for to be able to keep some of our fresh a little bit longer than we have in the past...

Can anybody offer any advice on its performance or recommend a similar peice of kit..?

Kind regards

I've used one of these (with a Coleman badge on it) for about 7 years.  Works fine but won't chill an entire case of beer in 10 minutes, it takes a few hours

Look at secondhand 3 way caravan fridges on ebaay too.

Towsure is also a cheap source of camping bits in the UK

Pretty slick? PRETTY SLICK!!!
Randy, that is A1, A1! And that, if I may be so bold, is why we in the UK are living on the back of an exhausted flea bitten Empire, and you my friend are in charge of the world.

I expect they're discretely stamped with the legend Made In China. This is a pretty sure indication as to who will be in charge of the world in about ten years time.

DW,

Getting back on subject, we use one of the Combicool 40L, fridges. It's 3way, 12V, 240V and propane. works very well indeed.
However, if the thing is full, it's useful to move the contents around occassionaly, to prevent the stuff near the element freezing solid.

We use it to preserve the perishables mostly, and chill the odd bottle of Stoli !

I paid 3130 for a new one. I see a once used one went for £87 on ebay earlier this week. In the summer, the used ones seem to fetch very close to new money.

As stated earlier, if you have the room, a 3 way unit from a 'van is a much cheaper option. I recall they were selling for about £40-£50 last year for used ones.

Perfect transport for getting to the Poo bar. Drive there, drink the contents previously purchased at sensible Carrefour prices and chilled to perfection, drive home, perfect.

Mr. Toad and the boys from Beermountain could do with a squadron of these beauties.

DW

The other alternative,is to go down to your nearest caravan dealer and ask if they have any old caravan fridges going........I've been using one for
 the past 5 years....runs on 12v,240v and propane/camping gas.

When not at LM it is use as a beer fridge.

What camp site are you on DW??  You could always take a proper fridge or freezer and tap into the Maison Blanche CA electrical supply!  Smiley
