well the good news is that the dongle works! 7.5 mega bytes/sec, the down side is that the treatment to get me ready has begun and I'm hooked up to my first bag of fluid.  The measuring of input vs output begins at 07:00 tomorrow, two of the three lines which hook up to my aorta via the juggler aren't working at the mo, so might have to jump up and down to get the lines unblocked, failing that a call out to Uncle Bill Perdu for emergency roadside repairs   looks more likely... ;D

Good luck Peter.

Try and keep us all amused with update of the nurses antics etc.

Hope the food is OK.

Peter,

Excellent - a blow-by-blow account in prospect of Bill rushing down there in Lara, braving foul weather, fooling the goons to get into the compound, and rigging up an emergency roadside airline to unblock you....

Hope you've managed to sort out a batman for your stay this time to make your dongle work for you...

All the best, and good luck

Blimey, this is a place to behold ;D

Long time spent lurking round these parts, not known to many, but have recently come out as a CAer ::) (Please don't tell BM :o!!)

As a long time listener, I have followed a couple of threads over time, with particular interest. Mainly because of the reaction from many of you to what certain people are going thru, as opposed to the unimaginable nightmare of the events themselves - if you get my drift  ::)

As a relative outsider (certainly not knowing any of you rabble personally ;D - not least those intimately involved) it's bin a continual source of inspiration.

It's not only reading the continued support from everyone for those directly involved, but for those who are directly involved to a) continue to update their friends & fellow LMers about their circumstances and b) do so with such humour, candour & courage.

Yes I know, many of you are 'real' friends as opposed to 'virtual' friends, but that notwithstanding - it's pretty far king special ;)

Have wanted to offer my support for a while, but (being English!) never had the balls :o

So (even tho I don't know either of you)...

Debs, I wish you further success in your recovery - I get the drift that it seems to be going pretty well?

And to Peter...Chemo tomorrow (well today!!) doesn't exactly sound like a riot of laffs, nor the ensuing next few weeks, but if it's any help, there are very many (real & virtual) people, myself included, wanting to buy you a pint as soon as  - preferably en france ;D All the best fella ;D ;D

Apologies for rambling, probably too many ales! (I'll check for typos after some sleep :o :o)  but had to chuck in my sixpeneth ::)
