I like this bit from the Motorsport article -
from the 2002 race "The WR Racing entry climbed from 20th overall to 13th before a spark plug failed, forcing a lengthly pitstop. "
'nuff said!

Thats a bit harsh, the WR's and WM's before them have a fine history at Le Mans including the fastest speed on the Mulsanne, many class wins and even a pole postion one year when the rules ensured some faster cars where put back.
The team also has a fine outlook compared to some of the big name tossers who run teams.
The other WR in the 2002 sebring race entered by Jim Downing did finish in 26th' beating such high profile teams as Cadillac and knight hawk MG

Maybe their plan is to remove the "kinks" on Mulsanne Straight, cruise at 250mph (since they hold that speed record) and just outrun everybody. Might work...

The 2002 Jim Downing Sebring entry was memorable because of the amount of flame coming from its Mazda exhaust. At night heading away from you it looked like the back of the car was on fire!
Agreed, they are a team that goes racing for the right reasons.

I thought the Sauber ended up faster than the "Project 400" WM. May have been in practice rather than the race.
One of my favourite episodes is when Roger Dorchy got to Mulsanne corner and turned left. He was leading at the time. If it wasn't for the barriers, he'd have put it in the Champion car park.
I may take the p!ss, but it was all part of the colour of LM, and I miss them. There aren't many amateur teams that have built a car that led the race (Courage seem professional)
