TEAM IMPALA will be announcing their 2006 driver line-up sometime this week. Contractural agreements limit the parties from early comment, however sources speaking on the condition of anonimity have said there are still issues that must be resolved with the S.P.C.A. as well as the representative for the Silverback Organization.

Just wondering as to the status of their vehicle this year. I understand that they may be carrying a considerable ballast penalty, up from last year's due to increased "fuel" consumption.  Recent sightings seem to put that ballast somewhere in the midsection, which at least should keep the handling neutral...Any word on such technical issues?

...need any pit crew members? Would be glad to help out with the "fuel consumption"  problems Tongue  Book me now for Sebring and LeMans, can be available upon request for other motor racing events.

Well, this and other threads are getting us all buzzing about Team Impala’s offerings for ’06, and rightfully so.  I can’t think of a team in the history of the sport that is, or was, more fan friendly, and always available to sign an autograph.  While I was interviewing Amazing Randy at PLM for my upcoming documentary “Turn 10, Sebring”, he was approached by a group of fans. He didn’t hesitate a moment to stop the interview, and take time to make that guy feel like the most important person at Road Atlanta. This was definitely NOT something you would see Dale Jr. do.  I was truly humbled by his humanity.  Here’s a link to the clip:

I assume the esteemed team members will be available for the traditional autograph signing again?

What the f**k are you talking about! I approached him politely at Road Atlanta and ask him to sign my Sebring ticket stub....he told me to f**k off! that he didn't have time for useless hanger-on's like me.  Just another overpaid, over-rated, prima donna if you ask me Angry  These racing fans today, not like the good old days at Indy where you'd find some bloke passed out before the race even started, in one of the infield golf course sand traps wearing nothing but a jock strap, cowboy boots and a grin.  Like I said, race fans today...Yeesh! They even drink light beer for gods sake! If that doesn't say worship me I'm fabulous, nothing does

Did'nt they just make a film on a similar theme, called Brokeback Mountain, I think, a particular favorite of Mr Bush Kiss

Makes one wonder what Dubbya REALLY does when he goes off to the ranch in Crawford Wink
They could make a film about he, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld hanging out on the ranch called "Dumb-Ass Mountain" Grin

Yes I recall this being shot - Randy doing a sterling job of commenting between cars thumping past behind him. A little later that evening, inches from that very spot, he nuked Jupiter John with the legendary "What's got a 10" cock and hangs-up?" cell-phone gag.
