It would be interesting to try to get the winner from Lakeside to take on "The Power" as an undisputed World Champion

They did last year, Taylor v Fordham. Wasn't really fair as Fordham had a broken wrist and I don't think he won a leg let alone a set.

BTW who saw Jelle beat Paul "Crocodile Dundee" Hogan last night. Good fightback by the Croc, but glad Jelle won through. And what about Wolfie Adams, 3-0 down and came back to win 4-3. I love the drama, the atmosphere and the wonderful sportsmanship. Great stuff!

I caught the end of the Jelle / Hogan match last night.  How glad am I that I have no plans this weekend so can spend my time in front of the telly with a few beers watching the semis and then the final.   Grin

Strange really - I don't follow darts at all but if it's on tv I've got to watch it.  Truly compelling viewing.

Here you go Doris, this'll fill in the time whilst there's no "arrah's" on the telly

Good darts indeed - or maybe not.  Maybe more a true example of how pressure can get to people.  Still, it made for gripping stuff and good viewing.

Fran - you're welcometo Jelle.  He does nothing for me.   Wink

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

It was a good show. For me the outstanding car was an Alfa from 1928 with a Swiss motorway sticker of 2005 in the screen and dead flies on the head lamps, fantastic. Here are some impressions:

...So when Jelle beat him I was cheering all the way. That lad is sheer Klaass...

I called it! I called it!

What a fantastic final, edge of the seat stuff, all the atmosphere, skill, drama and just the best sport I've seen since the Ashes. Hats off too to the BBC for some fantastic camera work and wonderful coverage.

I do hope some of the non-belivers managed to get over their silly prejudices and tuned in for a lesson on everything that makes sport so wonderful.

I was convinced Barney was going to win his fifth, but hoped it would be otherwise. Turned out great!! Barney had plenty opp's to end the legs and sets in his favour, but never threw his doubles without trouble. Jelle was outstanding in his finishing, great stuff.

Maybe it's time that a real World Champion of Darts was found? Forget Lakeside, I think it should be held in a field in France in June  Grin

JPC,

I think you are selling the possibility a little short !

I can foresee a Le Mans Pub Triathalon.

Darts, skittles and cribbage.

I think the Heptathalon that includes dominoes and shove ha'penny would be too much for most !

Paddy, don't give everything away yet!!!!!

PS I have a competition darts bord in my living room. If you can take care of a sturdy stand for it, I will provide the bord. My girlfriend will gladly see it's departure!!
